My wireless network at home crashed yesterday. I think someone tried to access it without the password.
It keeps the moochers away, but when people try to access it it gives you three chances to get the password right before the network locks down.
I'm pretty sure that's what happened. Somebody trying to access the network, guessed the password wrong three times, and it locked down. Now I have to reset the whole darn thing. Yipee. The whole process takes forever and is a royal pain.
And to top it all off, the driver CD for my router doesn't support Mac or Windows Vista. And we had to get rid of the only comp with Windows XP on it. The only way to get it to work was to download a Vista-supported driver. for which I would need the internet. naturally. So I had to hook up my DSL directly to my mac (the DSL driver disc doesn't work with Vista either) and download the drver, then burn it onto a DVD so I could use the driver.
And of course, there is no driver for mac, so I had to do it that way.
I've been considering lowering the security, but that would mean not only resetting the network, but also going into ALL the computers and devices connected to the network and changing the settings on each one.
all over some idiot trying to mooch our internet.
Ooooh if I could sic Frenzy on whoever did it.....
