The first 2 chapters to my book, Passion to Kill, comment, I wnna know how I did so far.
Chapter 1
'Its a nice night' Dante had thought to himself as he walked home. It was about 7 o' clock, and the moon was full. As he walked home, from a study "date" at his friend Zatch's house, he passed a lake. A big lake, with a huge clearing so you could see the ground all around the lake. The water was so clear that you could see all the way to the bottom of the lake. He sat down and watched the moon. Dante thought for a second, 'this would be a great place to take the Emilia.' Emilia being the girl who sits in front of him in math class. He loved her with a fiery passion, why did he love her so much? He didn't know himself, he loved her personality, and her look. He's tried asking her out multiple times, it just has never worked out. Dante sat up and continued his walk home. When he got home, he noticed his mother wasn't home. His father was off for business and he wouldn't be home for a few months. He took his backpack off his shoulders and placed it on the ground. He opened the front pocket and took out a key. He stuck it in the lock and opened the door. When he walked in he put his bag on the floor near the door and walked to the kitchen. The house was cozy, it had two bedrooms, a dining room, a family room, and a kitchen. It was only a one floor home, but he called it home. The house was like every other house for what was in it. Couch, kitchen appliances, television, X-Box 360. Dante walked over to the refrigderator and opened the door. He reached in, pulled out a Sprite, and opened it. He walked into his room and turned on his stereo. He had the music blasting while he played his X-Box. While he was playing, he didn't notice his mom come home. She walked over to his room and opened the door. Dante nearly fell on the floor. He turned down his stereo and asked, "Ma, what did I say 'bout knocking?" His mom laughed, "I just wanted to know if you wanted pizza." Dante laughed, "when don't I want pizza?" His mother laughed in agreement, she shut the door and left. Dante turned the stereo back up and continued to play games. The doorbell rang about a half an hour later. Dante stood up, walked out of his room, and headed toward the front door. He opened it and payed the pizza guy. He took the pizza inside and layed it down on the kitchen table. He opened up the box and took out a piece of pizza. Dante's mother walked into the room and said, "aren't you going to use a plate?" Dante smiled, "what's a plate? I've never heard of such a contraption." Dante took his pizza and walked back into his room. Dante shut off the X-Box and watched t.v. He finished eating his pizza and turned off the t.v. He shut off the lights in is room and got changed. He layed down in his bed and stared at the ceiling. He's just closing his eyes when he hears something outside. His first thought was that it was just a dog, but then he remembered, "no one around here has a dog." Dante looked out the window, searching all over for the source of the howling. He didn't see anything, so he decided that he would just go back to sleep. He turned on his mp3 player and set the sleep function so he can sleep with his music on.
Chapter 2
Dante got up the next day due to his stupid alarm clock that he wished would blow up. He got dressed and walked over to the kitchen. He grabbed a cup and opened the fridge, "hey Ma, where's the apple juice?" His mother walked out of her bedroom, "we're out, I finished it last night." Dante closed the fridge, "you know that's all I ever have for breakfast, I'm never that hungry. I got to go, school will start any minute now." Dante walked over to the front door, picking up his backpack that he laft on the floor next to the door last night after getting home. He opened the door, walked outside and turned around, "bye Ma." He closed the door and walked down the street towards the school. As he walked past the lake he saw a giant dog-like footprint. He bent down to take a closer look and noticed it was bigger than his own hand. Dante saw a trail of prints so he followed them. He eventually got to a point where the prints turned smaller until they were just like human hands. Dante had an idea about what they were, but he wasn't quite sure. He decided he'd talk to his mystical source, Jamie Lucey. Jamie Lucey is a friend of Dante's. She is a Wiccan. A Wiccan is someone who follows the Wiccan religion of magic and spells. Jamie knows many spells, which she sometimes uses on classmates by murmuring under her breath and snapping the bracelet she always wears. She also knows about most mystical creatures, like vampires and dragons. Dante kept walking to school. He didn't talk to anyone until he got to school. He saw Jamie sitting on a bench. He walked over to her, sat on the bench with her and told her about the weird paw prints. She thought for a second then said, "that's simple, I think." Dante sighed, "you think?" Jamie smiled, "well, the obvious magical answer is a werewolf." Dante smiles, "a werewolf, around here?" Jamie thought for a second, "depends, was there any other signs?" Dante leaned forward and thought real hard, he suddenly remembered, "I did hear some howling last night. The weird thing is, no one in my neighborhood has a dog." Jamie smiled, "that's it, that's the clues we need. Yes, it has to be a werewolf, there is no other explination for weird foot prints and howling." Just as Jamie had said that, Clover Bojangle walked over. Clover smiled, "hi Dante, hi Jamie, what's this about a werewolf?" Clover Bojangle, a kind of weird girl. She's always hyper, and she's really outgoing. Like Jamie, Clover is a Wiccan, but there is one major difference; she can't do any spells. Clover is more like a Wiccan follower. She learns, and does what she can, but she can't do any spells. Clover gets lessons from Jamie on how to do spells, and on the different magical species. Jamie looked at Clover and smiled, "apparently there's a werewolf near Dante's house. I should check it out this weekend." Clover jumped up and down, "I wanna come, I wanna come. Please Jamie please?" Jamie shrugged, "I don't see why not, this seems like a good way to learn more about werewolves, its like a hands-on experience." Clover stopped jumping," ok, so I'll see you Saturday, bye." Clover walked away, and Zatch walked over. Dante stood up and nodded to Zatch, "hey Zatch, what's up?" Zatch smiled, trying not to laugh, "why was Clover bouncing around like that?" Jamie spoke up, "a sale going on at Macy's, she was really psyched." "Oh, is that all it was, I thought it was something of actual importance, I'm out. Peace," Zatch said as he walked away. Just then the bell rang. Dante stood up, "see you at lunch Jamie, I can't be late for class again, I'm gonna get a detention." Jamie smiled, "that's fine, I know you can't afford a detention on that nearly perfect record." Dante smiled and turned around, as he turned around, he bumped into Emilia, knocking over all her books. Dante bent down to the ground to pick up her books saying, "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to, I mean, sorry." At that moment he didn't know who it was, but when he stood up, he noticed who it was. He couldn't say anything, he smiled and handed her books to her. She smiled and said, "thanks, Dante. See you in math class." Dante just stood there looking at her, he nodded and she walked away. Jamie walked in front of Dante, "hey Loverboy, you're going to be late for class, again." Dante waked up from his daze and ran off to class. When he got into the classroom the class was all seated and already learning. The teacher, Mrs. Espinola, called Dante over, "this is your third tardy this term, that means you get a detention." She passed Dante a paper and sent him to his seat. Dante sighed, "aww man."
