The Ramblings Of Game-of-Hope
I planned on writing about anything and everything: Social issues, movie reviews, my opinion on what's happening in the news, things that I'm grateful for, and things that frustrate me. I want to practice writing and I want to use this journal to do
Introductions to Sherlock Holmes
Like many other people , I am familiar with the character Sherlock Holmes. There has been many books, movies, and TV shows made about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective: which is why I was uninterested when my best friend Natt first told me about BBC's Sherlock. I cast the thought of watching it aside, and continued to watch Supernatural (which I had just gotten into two months before).

Eventually Natt insistence wore me down and I agreed to watch the first episode of Sherlock. We decided to make a date out; I would sleep over at her house, eat junk food, and all the rest. Before heading over to her house I did a little research on BBC's Sherlock, and I will admit that the cast of the show peaked my interest. The two lead actors are Martin Freeman and Bennett Cumberbatch. For those of you who don't know who these two amazing actors are, I'll give you a quick run down: Martin Freeman, who plays Dr. John Watson in the show, plays young Bilbo in The Hobbit; Bennett Cumber, who plays Sherlock Holmes in the show, plays Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness. (These actors have, of course, been in other productions, but those are the roles people on North America will most likely recognize.) The Lord of the Rings universe and the new Star Trek movies are some of my favourite things, so I confess to getting a little excited to see those actors playing in something together.

When I finally watched the first episode of Sherlock I found that I really enjoyed it. The dialogue was witty and well delivered; the camera work and soundtrack are terrific;and the plot kept me on my toes. I ended up watching the first two seasons in one sitting.

I then went out and bought said seasons last night. I left them TV stand and went to bed. When I woke up this morning, I found out that my Mom had stayed up last to watch the first season, and was waiting for me to watch the second one with her.
Needless to say; Sherlock Holmes has made a wonderful impression on my family 3nodding
