X + Y = ??
X thinks he likes Y. But X isn't sure if Y likes him back. So X decides to avoid talking about anything that might clue Y in to him liking her. Y is curious, though. She pokes around the topic, but X continues to evade her questions. Y wonders why that is. She wonders, "Maybe he really doesn't like me." or "Maybe he's trying not to like me." It hurts Y sometimes. She's not sure why it makes her feel bad. She's just curious. She can't figure out why she feels let down. Could it be that behind all of Y's curiosity, she actually feels something for X? But how could she tell him that? How can she tell him she likes him, when just like X, she's unsure of it herself.
