Book of Heavy Metal
This is basically a book of my daily life.
I took too much pride in this... OWN-DIZZLED!
THAT'S IT! MEGADETH RANT!!!

Let me tell you why I think they are different from most mainstream thrash metal bands back in the 80's.

1: I don't care what you say, Metallica would never be Metallica if it weren't for one man.. and that man is Dave Mustaine. Why you ask? Listen to "Kill 'Em All"- that isn't Kirk Hammet's playing. James (Hetfield) and Lars (Ulrich) stole Mustaine's recordings and claimed that it was Kirk playing on them.. which, is not true. You know the song "The Four Horsemen"? Mustaine wrote that song. But since he was kicked out of Metallica, he was forced to change the lyrics, but he kept the music because the music was rightfully his. Back in the earlier days, when Metallica was first starting out, James Hetfield wasn't the big tough frontman like he is now. No. Infact, he was too much of a baby to interact with the crowd, having Mustaine to be the "frontman", even though he wasn't doing any vocals, just lead guitar. Later on, Dave was kicked out, James and Lars not only stole his personality and attitude, but they also stole his style. Making Dave Mustaine the true creator of the bay area thrash scene and the genre known as- speed metal. After Dave formed Megadeth, people thought of his band as a "Metallica-copy" band. When really, it's the other way around.

2: There is something that Dave has with his fans. It's almost like a family-like bond.... (I think Deathfan88 knows what I'm talking about) Sure, Mustaine may not have the best/most likable voice in the world, and he may not be the best guitarist known to man (best thrash metal guitarist ever, in my opinion), but it's just the feeling he plays with when playing songs like "A Tout Le Monde" or "In My Darkest Hour" ... "Promises"... "Tears in a Vial" etc. It's not his voice, but it's his charisma. It's just something about him that alot of people, like. It's like Ozzy Osbourne. The dude uses effects out the a**! But there is just something about him that people like. Like a true giant once said "It's not how big your pencil is; it's how you write your name." - Dave Mustaine

3: Overall carreer... c'mon people! let's face the facts here, and now, in my view.

Metallica:

Kill 'Em All - It was never Metallica's style. Good album though.
Ride the Lightning - As you can tell, it even sounds sorta different from Kill Em All. This is my favorite Metallica album. It even had some songs written by Mustaine.
Master of Puppets - Still keeping the sound. Metallica's best album. Personally, after this album.. everything went downhill...
.. And Justice For All - Mediocre. Seriously, nothing special. Sure, couple tracks were pretty catchy.. but nothing like Master of Puppets. This album totally defined that once Cliff died, Metallica died.
the Black Album - Totally different. Sure, it was good.. but it was only good to the new fans, a small percentage of their old fans, and the money. This is when Metallica became businessmen, and began to lose their musicianship. Metallica obviously didn't care about who they were attracting, just as long as they get alot of listeners, they get alot of money.

then there was Load of crap, and reload of crap, and st. crap. Which was basically a huge money-hunger-strike.

Megadeth-

Killing is My Business... and Business is Good - Raw, heavy, and fast. Hmm... Just like Metallica?
Peace Sells.. but Who's Buying? - Probably their most demonic album ever. It was really heavy, raw and fast. Just an updated version of KIMBABIG (hahaha, kimbabig!).
So Far, so good... So what?! - Mediocre.... but I'll tell you one thing, they did dedicate a song to Cliff Burton... in your face, Metallica. icon_razz.gif
Rust in Peace - Heaviest album of them all. One of their best.
Countdown to Extinction - Lost a small percentage of their old fans, but still maintained to keep their old fans.. They were becoming more melodic.
Youthanasia- Very melodic. Still heavy, sorta fast. Still keeping the fans though lml
Hidden Treasures- Went back to being heavy, fast and melodic, like Countdown to Extinction..
Cryptic Writings - Did great, went back to melodic, but still kept it heavy and fast as well. Very balanced album.
Risk- The only album they tried with a producer. Mustaine wrote most of it, but it still wasn't the same. It had more radio-play and people started to lose respect for them. They tried to do something different. While other bands had the harsh vocals (black metal, death metal was still big around this time) they went kinda soft. Not so much though. Hence the reason why they titled the album as "Risk"
the World Needs a Hero- After Risk's dissapointment, Mustaine decided to back heavy, fast and melodic. They had a pretty good comeback with this album.

After this was sent out, live albums were sent out, which were a great success, and then Mustaine had the arm injury which made him unable to play guitar and was forced to disband Megadeth. Then 2004 came along, and released "the System Has Failed." --- Obviously, we all know how that came out. It was an amazing comeback for Megadeth. lml

NEVER JUDGE A BANDS GREATNESS IF YOU HAVE NEVER EVEN HEARD ANY OF THEIR STUFF BEFORE!

And another thing, BWIAN- Even if you didn't like Dimebag Darrell, it's still wrong to say you are glad that someone is dead. The drummer happened to be his brother. Imagine if someone you were close to was shot dead and you had to watch it. How would you feel?
