Jakobo's Prompt #14 What's your favorite Gaia outfit? What about this outfit makes it important / special to do, or what specifically about it stands out? Images are of course, encouraged, but remember, this is about the writing. smile
I don't have one favorite Gaian avatar, but the avatars I really like have a common motif: wacky but cohesive. I like to wear the strange masks and weird wigs. I like to put unusual pieces together, but I like them to all flow together and look like they belong. I like to change my look often and do something different.
The funny thing is, my avatar is generally the opposite of how I appear to be in real life. I'm a pretty traditional stay at home mom. I wear comfortable, forgettable clothes. I rarely wear make-up or do anything outrageous with my hair.
Also, unlike my avatar, I tend to not feel totally put together most of the time. While I take care to make sure my avatar looks cohesive, I don't always take the time to make sure that my real self has that togetherness.
Maybe I should take some lessons from my avatar. Be more colorful and creative. Be more put-together. Be a little different.

Jakobo's Prompt Think about your personality 3 years ago. Sure, that was a long time ago, but what personality traits have you lost since then? What personality traits have you gained?
Then: I turned 24 in February of 2004. My husband and I were living in Oklahoma while he went to school. I stayed home as a housewife which I was no good at being. I didn't drive; therefore I rarely got out of the house. I mostly was a very lonely person.
Now: So much has happened since then. I've had a baby, moved back to Tennessee where my family lives, and have gotten my driver's license. I still stay at home, but I'm much better at being a stay at home mom than I was at just being a housewife. I'm more motivated to get stuff done because I have my daughter to care for. I also am a sitter for a little girl for five mornings a week and another little girl whenever her mom needs me watch her.
Another thing that has changed is that I have a bit more confidence. I still struggle with it, but I've managed to get my license which is a huge step for me. I was terrified of getting behind the wheel for many years and would panic just at the thought of it. I still don't drive tons, but I do get out on occasion. Just having the ability to go out on my own is a confidence booster.
The biggest change is that I'm not lonely anymore. We currently live with my parents while we're paying off debt and saving up money for a house. Because of this, I have people here at the end of the day to talk to and be with. My husband and I also go to a church home group where we get together with other couples once a week. Before I relied too much on my husband to keep me from being lonely. He couldn't possibly fill the void caused by the lack of friends and family around. He and I have a much better relationship now that we have a good support system.
All in all, my life is much better now and I think I've grown tremendously as an individual. I am very thankful to everyone in my life for encouraging me even when I've been down and being here for me now.

On December 1, I finally got my driver's license. Yes, I waited until 10 years past when I was allowed to get it before I got it. I realize how pitiful that is, but at least I have it now.

Yesterday was Zoe's 1st birthday. She's gotten to be such a big girl. She walks really well and she's into everything. We gave her a doll for her birthday and she love it. She's been wanting a doll for awhile now so she's very happy to have her own. She's also starting to talk more and more. She likes to pretend to talk on the "phone" which might be an ink pen or a crayon or a block or just her hand. It's cute.

I don't know if anyone reads this, but if you do you can play! I set up a little trivia tournament, just for fun and bragging rights. I think you can go to it everyday and it'll have different questions. Enjoy!
