Okay, I've been meaning to make this post for the longest time, and now it's time I make it.
I, Trinity Renee, am in the United States Air Force.
That's right, I am an Airman... Airman Basic to be exact. The rank of E-1. Anyway, I'm heading down to Texas for Basic Military Training (BMT) this month. When I actually leave, I don't know. They ship every Tuesday and today is Tuesday and I didn't ship. So. Here are my possible ship dates:

I added the two July dates just incase I didn't ship in June. Which I better becaus ethe family is moving to Colorado in July and I would rather not be here to move. I hate moving. With a passion.
As for my MOS, my jobs range from Intelligence to Aircraft Maintenance to Communications to General Index. I pretty much just kicked a** on my test and qualified for 87 jobs. =3 Made me feel good.
So, until I leave, I'll be here. You can contact me via messangers or PM. I'm still looking for RP partners, so tag me if you wanna rp! =3 You know what I'm into!

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of getting delayed for being sent off for BMT. I mean, seriously... I've been waiting since the summer between my Junior year and Senior year of Highschool to leave, and it's now September after graduation and the Air Force still doesn't know when I'm gonna leave. Let's look at what I've been told so far:
You'll be leaving...

- August 1st
- We don't know yet
- October 1st
- Some time in October
- September 18th
- October 18th
- Sometime in Feburary
Please! Can I just leave now? I mean, seriously! All I want to do is get through BMT and head over to Iraq (possibly Iran) and do my job. Is that too hard to ask? Apparently so...
Well, since I'm delayed right now, I'm here hanging out at the beach. Sunburns are woman's best tan. Tomorrow I get to go to Dover AFB. There's a muesum on base, so maybe I can convince my parents to go to that. Just thought I'd b***h about being delayed.

Okay, let me start off by saying this. I am, by definition, a "gamer girl." I have been playing games since I was.... hmmm.... 7? 8? around '94, '95. Anyway, I can remember exactly what console I had, portable or not:
1. NES
2. Game Gear
3. Game Boy
4. Game Boy Color
5. N64
6. PS2
7. Game Boy Advanced
As you can see, I've been pretty much a Nintendo fan since the beginning. Now, I've played every console made: Dreamcast, Game Gear, PS1, XBox, Xbox360. You name it, I've played it. I've have my opinion on every console ever made. And since I've been gaming, recently I've been watching E3. I've watched 2004, 2005, and am currently watching 2006. It's now time for my two cents in about the consoles being shown at E3: The Ninteno Wii, the Sony PS3, and Microsoft's 360. And let me tell you.... The only company who's doing anything <i>right</i> is Sony. Let's begin with the Wii.
<b>The Nintendo Wii</b>: Originally called the "Revolution," when it was first showed at E3 2005, it was a black box that could get on the internet. That's it. And in my mind, that's all it'll ever be. Nintendo is far behind in the times, as it is just <i>now</i> getting online. And this new controller that's motion detected? I don't want to be flailing my arms around to play a goddamn video game. If I want to be doing some movement, I'll play Dance Dance Revolution, thank you very much. I'm sorry Nintendo, but.... you really do suck now... Kudos for trying though.
<b>The Microsoft XBox 360</b>: I will be honest, the 360 caught my eye last year. I did consider buying one. That is until I heard I had to pay an extra 100 bucks for someth my PS2 already had. Now, when it comes to gaming, price doesn't matter. After all, quality is better than quanitity. But the quality of the 360 didn't even match it's quantity. Under produced and defective, Microsoft just wanted the 360 out before christmas to get the extra bucks. When gamers first got the 360, it was already a problem. And it wasn't until Microsoft was getting sued for an exploding 360 did I change my mind. Sorry, I'd rather not be burned during my gaming experience...
<b>The Sony PS3</b>: I trust Sony on this one. I don't care if the "stole" the motion thing from the Wii, I trust Sony for making a good PS3. I can tell you from personal experience, I have hardly ever had a problem with Sony products. All of my eletronics are Sony: TV, stero, CD player, MP3 player, gaming console, sound system, laptop, ect. I love Sony. And with Sony, I've had two problems: My PS2 FE (After two years of playing it) blew up, and my Sony Psyche fell apart after a year of constant daily 8 hour use. With Sony, quality is better than quantity. And I believe that the PS3 (despite it's high pricetag) will be the same quality that all of my other Sony products have been.
I may sound a bit harsh, and I <i>really</i> don't care if you agree with me or not. It's just my opinion. But my opinion is based on experience. So yea. Just had to get that off my chest.

KATSUCON 12 CON REPORT, PART ONE
Okay, so I finally wake up from catching up on a little bit of sleep. I guess it's time to give my con report, ne?
As you may have known, it started off around 4 in the morning. I woke up, took my shower, and worked on my hair... Didn't work out as well as I wanted it too, but yea. Anyway, we left my house around 7 and got to the con about 9. On the metro, we ran into a Gojyo and a Sanzo. Thanks to them, we got to the hotel no problem. See? Sanzo's not mean all of the time!! It's cosplay was so soft....
I thought we would have to wait in line a very long time to get our con badges, but it only took about 20 minutes. Which made me happy because I'm totally used to Otakon lines. This really nice Vash checked me in, and told me that Roy, Riza and I were the only FMA military cosplayers she saw that actually made our uniforms. I feel so loved.
So basically, the first thing we did was walk around to get a feel for the area. We got stop thousands of times for pictures and everyone loved Hughes cause Hughes had the knives AND 11 pictures of Elysia! BEAT THAT b***h! *insane laugh* On our walk, we met up with my Ed and Al as they waited for costume judging.
Well, Ed remembered at Otakon how I was going to propose to my Roy, so I look at my Roy and well... Let's just say it was very entertaining. I got down on one knee, did the whole thing, then Roy picked me up and KISSED ME!! (Note, my roy is this guy I've been crushing over for the past 4 months. You can bet that when I got a kiss from him, female Trin was very happy.) With the kiss, about every yaoigirl there screamed their heads off and took pictures. Roy and I got hugs, and someone wanted to give us flowers for the "honeymoon," but we had to respectfully deny because I love flowers and I didn't want them to wilt since we didn't have a room.
So after the yaoi part, we headed down to the webcomic artists. I got to meet Garth and Larom (Comedity), Hawk (Applegeeks), Scott (VGCats), and Ian and Matt (Machall). Now, just to let you all know I've been stalking Ian and Matt for about two years now. To finally meet them.... Yea, I was happy.
After seeing them, we headed down to the dealers room where we got to see Rooster Teeth, the makers of Red Vs. Blue. The voices of Simmons, Tucker, and Caboose was there and Caboose was ******** hott with a double "T". We asked for hugs and they hugged us, but then Simmons said hugs were 15 bucks, only to get hit by Tucker. I got my Church T-Shirt, season 2, and season 3 DVD's signed by all three of them. X3 Twas the shiznit yo.
So we basically walked around and posed for pictures until one. That's when the fun started.
At one was the first FMA shoot. We got a ton of really good pictures, but there were more Eds than anything else. From what I remember, I know there were 2 Roys, 3 Hughes, 2 Riza's, a Lust, 2 Envys, and a human Alphonse. Everyone else was Ed. Scary, no? So after the main pictures, my other Hughes (Love you Hughes!) and I were talking about Flame vs. Fullmetal, and we got a Roy and Ed to agree to do it. But the Roy said we couldn't because Hughes didn't have a microphone. Well... I CAME PREPARED! I pulled out a fake Microphone, screamed so loud the entire lobby shut up, and there was a moment of silence before Everyone started clapping. I did my Hughes routine (LADIES AND GENTELMEN! WELCOME TO THE FIRST OFFICAL ALCHEMIST ACCESSMENT TEST! I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT TODAY IS A VERY SPECIAL DAY BECAUSE *pulls out pictures of Elysia* MY DAUGHTER IS TURNING THREE TODAY!!) and everyone whooped and hollared and laughed. We had the introductions and the start (ALCHEMISTS GET SET!!! ..... *runs away* READSETFIGHT!) and we did our whole Flame vs. Fullmetal thing. Yes, Roy did have flames. I made them for him.
After that, we had a lot of good pictures. We had one that progressively got bigger. First it was me and Envy trying to kill eachother, then my other Hughes tried to kill Envy, then Lust tried to kill him. That was funny. So after the photoshoot, Lust, Roy, Riza, and I went down to the restruant for lunch. The restruant ripped us off, and the food sucked, so we all walked around some more and caught wind of another FMA photoshoot at three.
This photoshoot was more formal than the other. Which is what we wanted. Sure, joking around was all fun in games, but FMA is also serious, so we wanted a good, serious and pretty group picture.
We were laughing because Lust said that she owed me something for buying her an expensive lunch, but we both completely forgot about it until Riza said something about it at the shoot. So, needless to say, Lust came over and kissed me. And damn was it good. If ya'll don't know, yes, I am bi, and yes she was ******** hot. My Roy got jelous becuase what he got was just lip contact and Lust and I were ******** making out and groping eachother. Riza got a picture of it... the b***h...
After that photoshoot, we headed back down to the dealers room and spent the rest of our money. I got a Roy plushie. I was happy. You'll see all that I got later when I post part two of the con report, with all of the pictures.
It got to be around four when we started to shut down, so we found a spot in the lobby and crashed till my parents came and picked us up. We headed home and I fell asleep against Roy's manchest. It was comfortable. When we got home, I crashed. I didn't even wash my hair, so I had one hell of a time trying to get the hairglue out of it this morning. Roy's still asleep on the couch. I should wake him up, but he's so cute sleeping there. Katsucon wasn't a big con, nothing like Otakon, but we had fun all the same. Like I said, I'll post part two later.

I got a PM yesterday, reguarding by entry about going to Iraq, and they asked the same question that everyone always asks me... "Why?" Well, I couldn't tell them why. I don't know why. It sounds horrible but... it's just... .... I can't even put in words. Where I live, people always ask are we going to change anything. They're always saying things like "This won't give us world peace." or "This is pointless." and I just... can't give them a reason.
That's why I have the song above. It says everything I can't.
I do this so this world will know that it will not change me.
Maybe it's pride, maybe it's stupidity, hell I don't know. But I do what I do so I do not change. Going into the military, people probably think that I'll be broken and remade to the government's standards and that I will become nothing but a mindless drone. No. I do this for me. I never really thought about the military till after 9/11. And the more I think about it, the more I realize that a lot of people are joining the military because of 9/11. I'm doing this because... Because I know I need to. This is me. This is who I am.
I guess I just wanted to get that off my chest. It's been a while since I listened to Garth, so I put a random CD in and hit shuffle and this song started up. Yea, it makes me cry, but it says everything I can't. *shrugs* I don't know what else to say.

Just Another Soldier: Part I |

Okay, remember a long time ago in my rant entitled "Reading makes the world go around" where I was reading a book called Just Another Soldier by Jason Hartley? Well you probably don't, but I do, and I'm going to tell you this little story.
After reading the book, I went to Jason's blog and read the entire site. Needless to say, I love his writing. So, getting some courage, I e-mailed him:
Dear Mr. Hartley,
I just recently finished your book and visited your blog and I just have to say once thing... Awesome! I literally could not put it down (when I got the chance to read it) and I couldn't stop laughing. I picked up your book after finishing two others like it (both very serious) and it was great to read something so humorous and true. I espically enjoyed the stories and pictures of Ray and Willy. This might be a bit sad, but my best friend is much like Ray... Only she's not military bound like me and my other friends. I could probably share just as funny of stories of us trying to get into the military like you did with your book and blog. Are you going to continue writing? If you are, I can't wait for your next book or blog. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my e-mail, ^_^ even if I am just a fan.

I'm working on two new projects-- a short story and a book. The short story is about violence and the book is about my childhood growing up Mormon in Utah. I'll add your address to my mailing list.
Out of curiosity, how old are you? Whenever I wrote, I tried to imagine my audience as a 20-year-old girl. I wanted to try to make accessible a subject that is somewhat intimidating to, say, a college girl. It's easy to sell Army stuff to a guy who grew up playing GI Joe. I'm curious how you came to find my book, what made you decide to read it, etc. The more detail you can give me, the better.
You're in the military or soon will be? What did you choose to make your MOS?
