Lots of controversial stuff pisses me off because everybody thinks that their idea is right, and of course I'm no different. So I'll post my opinions here, and if you don't like them, then please, don't hesitate to provide me with something better. Well, here goes.
Animal Testing (Medicine): I'm for it. People with diabetes can survive because the insulin shots were tested on animals. One day we might be able to find a cure for cancer or AIDS if we continue testing on live specimens, and there's no way we're going to be able to have that many humans agree to risk their lives for science. It's practical to use animals; cloning human tissue is expensive, money that could be used towards further research for a cure. We're at the top of the food chain, and we gotta do what we gotta do. Hunters kill animals for sport, why can't scientists kill animals for the greater good? I have an even better idea however. See Capitol Punishment.
Animal Testing (Cosmetic): Against it. You might think it's hypocritical to have different stances on the same topic. However, I'd like to point out that no amount of makeup will ever do the human race any real good, and since the irritations and reactions from most cosmetic mishaps are minor, the cosmetic scientists could just hire people as test subjects. Sure, it cuts into their precious profits, but cosmetics don't do anyone any good and I don't think they deserve to profit from putting Barbie dolls in my magazines and telling me I need to look like that. Assholes.
Abortion: For it. Not only is it a woman's choice, it's often a very sensible decision. Teenage mothers can ******** up their lives and their kids' lives, and the lives of everyone around them, by deciding (or being forced) to keep their baby, and just take a look at how messed up the kids are. There has never been a generation more arrogant or shameless, and you can just bet the next generation is going to be even worse. Take a look around you. The whole world is a pretty wretched place, from condemning religions to corrupt businesses to disease-ridden mosquitoes! Do you honestly want to put anyone else through it?
Capitol Punishment: For it. Completely for it. Murderers, rapists, and other people who have been convicted for life will cost the system hundreds of thousands of dollars each to feed and accommodate, and if all the jails are full, then the more minor offenders will just end up on house arrest, which is more like a slap on the wrist than an actual imprisonment, not to mention it keeps potentially dangerous people out on the street. In fact, I have a solution to animal testing. Why don't we do criminal testing instead? In my opinion, when you violate someone else's rights, you give up your own. Golden rule.
Is there a God?: No, sorry, there isn't. Religion serves only two purposes, as I see it. The first purpose is to give the ignorant masses some hope, some relief of greater things to come so we don't all get depressed as hell and jump off a bridge. The second purpose (and I don't think this was originally a purpose, but hey, you know, s**t happens) is to control the ignorant masses through faith, which I think is damn underhanded. People are willing to kill for their God, die for their God, shun and mistreat other human beings who don't follow their beliefs, follow ridiculous diets or regimes, and throw their money in a big bowl after a grumpy old man tells them they're all good-for-nothing-sinners. I think if there was a God, and he was as good and all-powerful as everyone believes, he'd strike down all these assholes taking advantage of his name to get ahead in their own lives.
Umm, I'll add more later.
If you don't agree with me, please provide me with feasible, literate proof in my comments. I'm always open to being corrected if I have overlooked something.
