myth report ignore this.
In the beginning, neither heaven nor earth were divided. Out of the ocean of chaos a reed arose and the reed was the eternal land ruler, Kunitokotatchi.Then came the goddess Izanami and the god Izanagi. They stood on the bridge of heaven and they stirred the ocean with the holy lance “Ameno-nuboko” and the sea water became partly hard and created the first Japanese island, Onokoro. Next Awashima Island was born. Goddess Izanami then said “I have a hole and you have a pole, so let’s join them”. They had a child called Hiruko, but he wasn’t as strong as they would have liked so they put him in a reed boat and send him to drift in the ocean where he became the god of fishermen. (There was a legend in which Hiruko drifted to the north, reached Ezo, ancient Hokkaido.) Then the God Izanagi said the same as his goddess and they had many babies, the Japanese Islands. Afterwards, they bore six more islands and many lesser gods. However, after giving birth to Kagu-Tsuchi (incarnation of fire) Izanami died. Izanagi was so furious that he killed the child and cut it into many pieces, creating dozens of gods. Izanagi mourned for the loss of his wife and traveled to Yomi, the shadowy land of the dead. He quickly searched for her and found her. Though he could not see her due to the shadows hid her appearance well, he asked her to return to him. She spat out at him that he was too late. That she had already eaten food of the underworld and was now one of the dead. She could not return to the land of the living. Though shocked, Izanagi ignored her wishes and refused to see her being left in the dark hold of Yomi. While Izanami was sleeping, he plucked the comb that bound his long hair and set it alight as a torch. The sudden burst of light lit her form, and Izanagi looked at the horrid form of his once beautiful and graceful spouse. Now, she was a rotting form of flesh, infested with maggots and foul creatures. With a loud yell, he could no longer hold back his fear and fled, intending to return the land of the living and abandon his deathly spouse. Izanami awoke, shrieking and indignant, and began chase after her husband, planning to kill him. She also sent wild shikome (foul women) after the god, instructed to bring him back. Izanagi burst out of the opening of the cavern and immediately blocked the entrance to Yomi with a huge boulder. Izanami screeched behind the blockade and told her husband that she would kill 1,000 residents of the living every day. The god furiously replied that he would give life to 1,500. Afterwards, Izanagi cleansed himself of his trip in Yomi, many gods sprouting from him as he did so. The main gods to arise was Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun; Tsukuyomi, the god of the moon and Susanoo, the god of storms and the sea. The myth is similar to Orpheus and Eurydice, as well as the myth of Persephone and Demeter.

POTC3 SPOILERS!!!
*sniffle* Gwaa... The movie was great, but oh god was it sad... Noringtton and Davy died!!! They're mah fav. characters besides Jack! cry
So ya know, Noringtton saved Elizabeth and some other Singaporian pirates from Davy's ship and he protected them and Bootstraps stabbed him and killed him! There was a funny part though...
Davy: "Do you fear death?"
James:*stabs him with sword and dies*
Davy: "...I take that as a no."
sweatdrop It was still sad, belive me...
And as for Davy, it's a long story. It turns out his love was Tia Dalma, and Calypso; the goddess of the seas. She was the one who created the maelstrom. Anyway, it turns out he betrayed her after she didn't come for him after the 10 years, and Calypso was locked away. In the maelstrom, Jack was on the verge of stabbing his heart with a broken sword when he stabbed Will and almost killed him. After that, Bootstraps remembered his promise (had amnesia) and attacked him. Then, his heart was stabbed and he looked around to see Jack holding Will's hand onto the knife, the knife that stabbed his heart. After that, his grip slipped away and he was gone. Davy then toppled into the maelstrom, his last words the name of his love.
"Calypso..."
cry That moment was heartbreaking... I was almost in tears at that moment. Almost... And I don't cry often.
Anyway, the musicical score was fan-freakin-tastic. Go to imeem.com and search for One Day or At Wit's End by Hans Zimmer. The first is so sad... *in tears listening to it* That's it, Davy's mah fav. character now, and I don't give a care what you think! *goes off crying*
