1st Lake Trip of the Year !!! And a minor drowning |

Took the kids (all 5 left in the home) out to the lake this evening...
We weren't sure if it was going to be too cold to swim, but figured that there's a cute playground just in case.
Went out there & they added some new picnic areas with small bbq pits - very nice - will have to go back for several dinners of brauts, hot dogs, hamburgers - and WHEN I get around to buying the fishing licenses, grilled FRESH fish smile
Kids all had a blast - Lou & I sat at the picnic table & chatted smile
The 5 year old was a nice freedom feeling distance, but watched very closely. I watched as the 5 year old went under water -- no big deal -- and it started to dawn on my he wasn't coming back up yet -- then I saw a big bubble -- ran down to the water & grabbed him - he'd stepped into a hole just over his head & he coudln't figure out how to get forwrad or backwards...
But he wasn't too paniced - he was back at the lake's edge in 5 mins - LOL but this time was using his sword to firmly touch the ground before he took a step smile
Well hugs all

Well Author_Greg moved out crying
It's been strange for me...
I know where he's going, I trust the people he is with, I know he has many more opportunies for who he is (job, school, friends) and I'm thrilled and excited he has started on the next phase of his life...
Logically I know that my job as a parent was to prepare him to step into his own life... and I am very proud of the man he turned out to be, despite/because of my life mistakes...
Emotionally I am devestated -- This is my baby, 18 years of my life as my sole purpose, one of my best friends in the world...
I know we have MSN and do chat frequently ... he didn't run off & get married on his 18th birthday like I did... he took childhood memory things with care ... it was planned and tested to ensure this was the step he wanted at this point in his life...
Anyhow ...
Still have 4 kids at home ... 3 dogs ... 3 cats ... a fun parrot ...and Lou... So it won't be like I'm bored...
Iwantsouls got to move into her own room !!!! We're going to get some new tile (there is carpet) and paint the walls purple (we'll discuss how dark dear)... She's already re-decorating and I've never done a girls room before, so this should be fun smile

There have been a lot of things that I have seen at baby showers that made me jealous -- if only it had been invented when I had them !!!
But I just found a trick that would have made a difference raising my boys ...
They sell these lysol wipes in a 2 pack, buy one get one deal -- so like $5 ...
When the kids are being restless ask them if they'd like to clean -- and give them a wipe...
They smell fresh & clean -- and the wipe is soft -- so it's enjoyable for them to walk around dusting & feeling helpful...
They beg to clean now -- and the wipe has to be fairly dirty to get a new clean one wink
My sliding glass doors have no puppy smudges, my shelves are getting regular dusting, they're getting over their fear of spiders and realizing that a cob web does not mean poision -- lol -- so to be brave they tackle all the cob web's they can find rofl
One of the brooms broke -- so it's shorter than normal ... The kids found that & started to use it (they felt so good after being helpful with the wipes) ... swept under the couch & our chairs & around the floorboards -- lol
We had to tell them it was time to stop cleaning & settle in for bed mrgreen
Now I know it won't last wink they turn into teens rolleyes But gawd I'm enjoying this -- lol
Hugz all Starry

Form letter for Lou's Friends... |
|
|
|
|

I'm getting tired of having to type this ... So I'm going to put it here where I can refer you when it's your turn...
"Lou & I are both 38, almost 39 year old adults and parents of children your age.
I have directed you to the profile page and you have seen real life pics of Lou with his children in my home.
Lou doesn't mind listening or talking with you ... giving advice... He likes to do that.
I have talked with you personally about keeping your emotional distance with him. This isn't for my sake, or his sake, it's for YOUR sake.
He is not available or interested in relationship, romance, sex or anything with a 18, 19 year old girl. While he was single, his daughter brought over friends who were in that age range, thinking she was gonna set daddy up. He's an adult man, who considers girls your age as his daughter.
You may not realize it - but yes, girls under 25 or so are HOT -- and you are HOT -- but there is much more to life than that. It's hard to understand at your age, with all the media that is thrown at you - but a real adult relationship takes alot more than that... and someone your age just doesn't have it yet.
I personally think from what I've seen that your parents are letting you down by not being more responsible & watching what you do on the net. We have all the computers in the living room so we can keep an eye on what everyone is doing.
If Lou caught his daughter talking with a 38 year old man he'd hunt him down & kill him. Then he'd beat her azz. Lou's not a child molester, he's a responsible adult.
I don't mind, I think it's funny, when he gets this from women our age -- and yes, he has several women who chat with him too...and several who have popped up with "I love you"...
I've had to sort them out too -- so don't feel bad, you aren't the only one ...
Hugs, Starry"
Ok -- This was written for a younger girl -- But I also know there are you older ones out there wink and yes, Lou is very cool -- I enjoy him alot wink
He likes to flirt & chat & have fun - that's fine with me wink Just remember, look at the pics, he's a happy man heart and have fun smile
Luv u all -- Starry

rofl So Lou & I stop by a friends house who we thought might wanna go hunting...I was planning to sit at the house with his ole lady, but they weren't there...
So we stopped in to visit another friend in the area & he took us down to his tree stand & then we all ended up in his Jeep heading out to a spot he knew -- lol
First time in my life I"ve put on an orange vest & hat --
rofl -- we sat up in this persimmion tree -- nice weather, maybe 70? -- clear blue sky out by a lake...
Very peaceful --
Only deer we saw was on the way over to his house -- 6 crossed the road, and it was all residential domokun
The deer knew they were safe, obvious broken fence where they made a safe path & they were tormenting me -- look at the 4 hams jumping over that fence -- and it's the tasty meat, not the slow deer (cow)...ummm tasty meat...
domokun
Love ya -
Starry
