Coma Ch.1
C.O.M.A.
Combat Mechanized Armour

In 1963 Albert Einstein came up with a brilliant idea. “What if a machine could be made to think?” Halfway through the year he created a machine that could talk in secret but the first words were. “Help me… the pain!” A world leader tried to tell everyone but people who wanted this equipment shot him. Einstein made it so that it would evolve and learn new things but he didn’t know that it needed to be attached neurologically to another human being.

207 Years Later

2170 AD Layon Era

Man is finally able to go up to the stars. The discovery of light speed travel was a shock to the world. When a construction company was ordered to demolish Einstein’s lad the chief of the business found two things, a ring and a necklace, both black. He put them into his pocket. He was going to give them to his son who was 15. He quickly set the sonic detonators on each of the pillars and ran out. His son would love the gifts he got him. “All right. Break it!” As the detonators ripped the pillars to shreds he thought about the war as shrapnel went everywhere. New weapons called C.O.M.A’s, Combat Mech Armours, were the norm now. Soldiers in mechanical suits. As he got into the truck he turned the NAV system on and set it for 4673 Thayon Lane. It was a short while till he got home. “I’m home!”

“Yaya I know!” Carl was hurt, his son said that every time he said “I’m home.” “Gabe I’ve got something for you.” Carl said. “Really? Sweet! Thanks Dad!” He held out the necklace and rings. “Umm thanks.” Gabe felt a little dazed as he put on the ring and felt vibration as he put on the necklace. “Like them?” “Yeah dad, great!” Gabe said half-heartedly. “Great! Supper will be ready in 2 hours.” Carl said as Gabe nodded and walked out the door. Gabe’s family didn’t live in the bad part of town but they didn’t live in the good part of town either.

He clicked a button on his shoe and a hover board formed. He heard a crash of cans next door and looked over to see a girl with waist low red hair and wearing a skintight blue suit lying on the ground. He turned off the hover board and ran over there to see if she was ok. “Are you ok?” He eyes fluttered open and she muttered something unintelligible. “I’m sorry but I don’t seem to understand you.” She shook her head and pointed at his necklace and ring then pointed to hers. “I just got these.” She smiled and that made him blush and seemed to make a popping noise in his ears. “… Ah there we go. All we needed was a simple emotion to establish the link.” She said. “Say wha…?” Gabe said as she repeated. “All we needed was a simple emotion to fuel the link between the C.O.M.A’s. Speaking of which… were did you get that!” She said pointing to the necklace and ring he wore. “Oh these? My dad gave them to me.” “Where did he find them?” She said as he retorted. “I don’t know! He might have got them from a demolition of Einstein’s lab.” “Of course! He was making a prototype! I’m staying with you until it manifests.” Gabe choked. “What! You can’t stay with me! My dad won’t allow it.” She sighed. “Of course this earth is particular about that thing. Don’t worry. Go home and I’ll always be near.” She said as she suddenly disappeared. He sighed as so many questions ran through his head. “What manifesting? Who was she? What did she mean about earth?” He sighed and walked around the house and walked through the door. An hour and a half had passed and he smelled the stew that his dad was cooking. “Dad I’m going up to my room
