Watching as the first snow falls. Her irises reflect the stormy gray of the sky, And light feathery specks Cling to her eyelashes. Clouds of condensation Form infront of her face. Swirling crystalized breath Coming out in puffs from Parted lips, dry and cracked. The crunch of a thin layer of ice Coating over the fresh fallen snow. Beneath the snow are the fallen leaves From fall Beneath the leaves is frozen brown grass From summer Beneath the grass are sleeping tulip bulbs From spring The small girl watches the seasons change Into winter She smiles, her soft cheeks flushed a warm pink. Watching as the first snow falls.
