character concept
Name: May?

Concept: Druid character, doesn't speak because her tongue was cut out.

As a child, she was always a little slow to speak, preferring to think her words out before saying anything, and always making sure to plan at least two steps ahead. Of her opponent. As one who often thought ahead (probably more than necessary) she played games such as chess, and often participated more in the planning rather than the execution of things.

But however brilliant she was, sometimes she just didn't have a lot of common sense. Overall, she was a pretty dumb kid. Which is how her tongue got cut out. She wasn't kidnapped by pirates or anything. She just accidently took it off one day. Just like that. But it was alright. She had never really talked much anyways.

Bio for Avalarid
Gaian Username: Kairos
Name: Cecilia Corvair - C, or CC for short.
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Height: 4'11
Weight: 100
Nationality: The Holy Empire
Class: Rogue
Weapons: As a rogue, many different weapons have come into her hands at some point in time. Her favored weapons, and most often used, are twin daggers she lifted from one of the nobles in Lhazaar, and have served her well for many years. Approximately 18 inches long total, the blade is a foot long and lightweight, allowing for quick movement. Their hilts are black and wrapped with a silver wire, allowing for a smooth and good grip (your dagger slipping out of your hand would be no small bad thing). For something taken from a noble, the wheel pomels are relatively plain, boasting a simple raised hub with a single stone inlaid on both sides; one is a faint aquamarine colored crystal and the other an amber colored crystal. She calls them her Dragonflies.
She also keeps a Dutch style cutlass with her personal belongings, just in case, though it's rarely seen the light of day. Mostly, she keeps it because it's pretty, with its clamshell and curved guard. She likes to pretend she's a ferocious pirate with it in private.

Appearance/Personality:
Cecilia is slender and short, with just enough muscle to not look gawky and twig-like. Her hair, often worn up, is a natural dirty blonde color, and falls around her face with the part off-center. The color changes, depending on her mood and the dyes available, but her favored color (when she's not too lazy) is a violet-black color that compliments her vivid green eyes. Behind her ear, barely visable due to the messy strands of hair falling over it, is the white wyvvern of the House of Corvair. When she became a rogue, she punched a hole through it with a needle, and took to wearing earrings. Partially due to her height, she appears younger than she usually is. Her smiles tend to be a little unnerving for most people, and worrisome to others.

When she's not on a planned raid, all sorts of bangles and bracelets adorn her skinny wrists (though no rings, since those tend to cause blisters when she grips her daggers). Her knee high boots are a soft worn brown, lacing the entire way up and adding an extra inch to her overall height. Often, she'll wear leggings of some sort (usually a creme color) underneath a reddish-brown skort (a skirt with shorts underneath) with a light green trim (or sometimes a creme trim). Her top is a mid-drift revealing sports bra-esque shirt covered by a creme and brown jacket with long sleeves, a high collar, and comes to an end right in the middle of her ribs. For cooler weather, she wears a form-fitting top underneath the jacket.

One thing schooling never taught her, was how to be patient. Impulsive, especially when it comes to shiny things, she never hestiates when it comes to a good dare. Or a bad one. Cecilia carries her personal pride with her head high, and will do anything to preserve it, even if it seems insane. She's not hot-headed; she simply doesn't stop to think about the future. To her, there is the present, and the right thing to do during the present. She'll argue her mind, and also enjoys teasing the hell out of her companions when she can. When she loses her temper though, she extremely overexaggerates things, and becomes even more unstable than she already is. She also doesn't mind using her body a little bit (or at least, pretending as if she's going to use her body) to get what she wants. Usually, they don't last long enough for anything to actually happen. She prefers it that way.

She has a very good eye when it comes to finding valuables, or loot on another person or thing. She's almost like one of those pigs that look for truffles, except in her case, it's the shininess of an object that attracts her.

History: Coming from the House of Corvair, Cecilia had thought that her life had been planned out for her. Her father was one of the head White Mages, renown throughout the Empire for his ability to heal and protect. Rumor was that he was also one of the chief healers in the Arcane Inquisition as well. Her mother, coming from the House Cannith, was a woman of the sea - how her father had managed to tame Rosalia Cannith's mighty temper was a mystery to both sides of the family, especially since theirs had been an arranged marriage.

Cecilia was born without the lightest bit of Magick potential, much to the dismay of her father, who had hoped to pass his teachings on to his daughter. It was, however, secretly pleasing to her mother. The man, she confided in her daughter, while completely lovable, was far too devoted to his god sometimes; it was hard, having to share her husband with a god. She was, after all, simply a mortal woman. It was decided then, that their daughter be trained to fight in the holy name of Solem, and began to train as a paladin. Cecilia did not complain, because it gave her access to the churches and the training grounds. While she didn't care much for the content, the churches were very pretty, and she'd often spend her time staring up in facination, watching the way the light caught the glass and gold.

Often gone on "offical business of the Inquisition," Rosalia would take her daughter back to her hometown of Lhazaar, to be with the rest of her family. Most of them looked upon the two with a mix of pity and scorn - marrying into the Corvair family, while practiced, was not looked upon highly. She often felt lonely and out of place when she came to Lhazaar, even as a small child. All of her cousins were either purely Lhazaarians, or a mix of Lhazaar and Galifar. The Corvairs were no better. They held themselves higher than her, saying that her blood was tainted, her mother a pirate, and there was no way Solem would ever see past the blackness of her soul. Children can be cruel, especially when fueled on by their parents. Resentment began to build, towards both sides of her family for casting her out as such.

Her training as a paladin was never finished. It was one day in Amnir, where her cousins were cruelly tormenting her, that she had finally snapped. Using a technique she had learned in paladin training (from the other pupils, not from the teachers), she kicked them all - hard - in the balls and ran towards the cliffs of the sea side city, wanting to end this miserable life.

As she plunged into the water, something caught her eye. Something shiny. She had managed to reach out of impulse and snatch the object right before hitting the freezing water like a sack of potatoes. Of course, she knew how to swim. But swimming in the bay was far different than swimming next to the cliffs, in the dark, when the water was freezing cold. Flailing, the young girl grabbed onto the closest thing next to her - a dead body. Apparently, someone else had had the same idea that she had. Except she was much older. And frozen. But that must have been where the necklace had come from. For some reason, it hadn't disturbed her at all. Shivering, she draped her body over the dead woman's and began to kick her way towards shore. Luckily for her, shore wasn't too horribly far away. And even more luckily for her, one of her relatives managed to spot her from the shore, and rowed out to grab the child out of the water. She was shivering, and clung to the dead body like a giant teddy bear.

Bemused, the man took her into his home. He turned out to be a brother's wife's brother, of the House of Vadalis, making him an uncle of sorts. He was here, visiting his sister, and generally took walks during the night to hone in on his skills. The rest of the family had no idea of his line of "work." To them, he was simply the family coroner.

It was his idea of a joke, and his influence that got her into the fabled Order of the Shadows. It was perfect. The girl nobody knew was alive, at the school nobody was supposed to know about. And a Corvair! It made him giggle. Of course, he had to change her name; she became known as Cecilia Cordalis. He trained her, in private, to make up for the 10 years she had not been in the Barracks, training. But it wasn't hard - the training for a paladin was similiar to what he was teaching her. At the age of 15, she was ready, and became a member of the Order. Under the watchful eye of her guardian uncle, she matured not into an Assassin as he had hoped (though she had many friends who did), but instead as a Rogue, flitching the jewels off of unsuspecting victims and disappearing before they noticed. She worked on commission, and always stole a little bit more than what was asked of her.

It was one night, after a successful raid that she went to celebrate at one of the taverns and drank a little too much. Stealing while inebriated made it super easy to get caught, and the man, while also drunk, decided to take justice into his own hands. But Cecilia wasn't THAT inebriated, and in a fit of rage, pulled out her dagger and chopped off the man's offending danglies and tongue (which had managed to force its way into her mouth). For some bizarre reason, she took them with her, and pretended as if that incident had never happened. But Ilon Nightson had other plans for the rogue. One of his sailors had been in the bar when the poor man had burst out, bleeding from two new holes in his body. After that, she moved out her Uncle's place, getting one on her own and cutting her final ties to any sort of family she had. Rarely did she ever refer to herself as a Corvair, prefering to give out her adopted last name if any at all. The next time they were going to see her was when she was stripping them of any valuables they owned.

Through his black arts, he began to fill the young woman's head with greed, causing her to steal more and more than before, causing some of the superiors to raise their eyebrows. She never remembered what she did with the extra stolen goods - only the thrill and rush of adrenaline as she took what wasn't hers. More thoughts trickled into her head. Why should the best of the stolen goods not be hers? She was the one who did all the work, after all. And what did she owe Galifar? Nothing. Nothing at all. Her raids became more ruthless, more cruel as her victims became scarred and bleeding bodies. She never killed any of them (well, maybe one or two), but always left some sort of mark on their bodies, often in the form of a tongueless mouth.

As her hoarde of shinies growing bigger, the man whispering sweet things into her ear became more and more attractive, until the young woman was almost infatuated. Almost. She still had her shinies, after all.

Cecilia continued her descent into greed and cruelty, using her body to draw men in close before robbing them blind and leaving them unfit for further proliferation. One day however, she was a little careless, and was caught, drunk, and thrown down with the slaves on a slave ship going to Vadalis, clad in the same style as the other slaves - chains. She bit off his manhood of the first guard who came down for a "break" in a bloody mess, then strangled him while he was screaming. His screams attracted other guards, whom she strangled as they came in. But there were too many of them coming through the door at once, and the chains could only kill men so fast. That was when Ilon descended upon them with his crew, killing those who resisted and taking the rest as slaves. Cecilia was surprised, at first, to finally see the man from her dreams. When he invited her to join his crew, she gratefully accepted, happy to be close to her crush and the promise of more loot than she could ever hoard.

RP Sample:
Why had she done that? Oh, father would be angry with her now. Despite his involvance in the Arcane Inquisition, he prefered to preach about peace to his daughter, telling her that she must never harm another through violence.

Oh father... Ceclilia broke into an open sob. Don't you care about me? To her, it felt like he didn't. He stood by and let this happen to her, let this happen to her mother. Didn't he know how mean they were being to her? And if he did, why didn't he do something about it?

The answer was simple. Nobody cared. Not about her family, and most certainly not about her. Her father loved his god more than his wife or child. Not even her teachers cared. They all cared more about the correct angle your head was bowed when you prayed to Solem. Solem himself... if he truly was the kind god they preached about, where was he when the older children were beating her up? Her depression only seemed to grow as she stumbled further and further away from the city. Sharp rocks cut into her flimsy shoes as she ran, but her heart hurt too much to even notice.

Warm light tried to comfort her, bathe her in the light of the setting sun, but all she could see was blackness and the oncoming night. Life didn't matter anymore. To go home was to condemn herself to punishment for whta she did and even more tormenting. What was the point of it all, if you were going to die anyways? Cecilia glanced down at the water below her. It was a long fall. There were bound to be pointy rocks there... it would be a quick death, for sure.

She took a deep breath. The smell of the sea... it tasted good, and it was one of the few things she would miss. Fists clenched, she took a step backwards into nothing and fell rear first. Time seemed to slow down as she plummeted towards the bottom. The clear blue sky filled her vision, becoming the layered sides of the cliff the further she fell. It kind of reminded her of cake.

Something twinkled out of the corner of her eye, and she instinctively snatched at it. Whatever it was, it was cool to her touch, and that was the last thing she remembered before hitting the water like a large sack of potatos.

HAPPINESS IS GOLDEN
Original God: Iris
Current God:
Weapon: Giant Bubble Wand
Name: Happy Super Love Love Wand of Shininess (Shimmery or Love Love Wand for short)

The original purpose of the Happy Super Love Love Wand of Shininess was not as a weapon, but rather as a giant bubble wand for all the really tall Gods. Ideal really, for sending messages in a pretty fashion. That, and it made people happy and sometimes giggly, using the powers of happy and shiny things. However, the wand was stolen by Anat, who proceeded to take the bubble wand and make it more badass by pimping it out and turning it into a weapon at the same time. Iris, when she saw what had been done, was horrified and proceeded to steal it back, and change it into what is now its current form.

Known to mortals as Shimmery (since callng it by its original name took too much time), it has the ability to change height to suite the avatar who is wielding it, so that the bubble ring stands slightly taller than head height. Its staff is crafted from a smooth, lightweight yet sturdy material that shimmers in the sunlight, hence the name. Because Iris could never make up her mind on a color, avatars have the option of light blue, lavender, or pink - all of which have a metallic pastelly sheen to it. The end of the staff holds a stone that embues the staff with powercomes to a sharp point, a gift from Anat.

One of the other key changes Anat made to the Love Love Wand, was the bubble ring itself. Normal bubble rings have "teeth" that line the inner and outer edges of the bubble wand. Shimmery has these teeth as well, except for a few key differences. First of all, these teeth are pointed and sharp. Secondly, they can collapse onto each other, forming a smooth blade that lines the inner and outer part of the bubble ring. Another change was to the ring part of the bubble ring - the avatar, after expending a punative amount of energy, could expand the ring from it's normal diameter (approx. a foot and a half) to however wide the avatar wishes, provided that there is enough material for it to expand.

No bubble wand is complete without the ability to create bubbles, and magical bubble wands (like Shimmery) are no exception. Shimmery however, can use any type of liquid to create a bubble, soapy or not. In addition, the avatar can expend a diminuative amount of energy to create a bunch of special bubbles.

Flavor Bubbles: Taste yummy~
Bubbles of Healing: Restores a little bit of energy or heals a tiny amount. More bubbles or bigger bubbles = more healing.
Bubbles of Death: Each bubble is laced with a slightly acidic poison. Doesn't do much damage on it's own, but creates a sort of minefield of bubbles and is corrosive.
Bubbles of Invincibility: These are bubbles that are solid and quite hard to puncture, pop, or break. More often than not, they are used to create a sort of wall or padding, and can be used to wrap things in bubble-wrap like surface.
Bubbles of Saving: Often used to hold things, or act as a shield. They reflect direct manifestations of energy, and can only be penetrated by a large force.
Bubbles of Love: Makes people happy and less willing to fight.

Peony L'Avante
Avatar of Aphrodite
Wielder of Bast's Caress

Age: Looks 26
Sex: Female
Height: 5'7''
Weight: 124
Build: Willowy and flexible

Never, in her entire life, had Peony ever told the truth about her age. Even when she was younger, lies had been told to gain... access to places unavailable to youngsters. Until the age of 23, the young woman had always appeared older than she really was. After that, it was the exact opposite. Quite useful in the industry, really, for men seemed to like women in that age range. She had been quite successful in this industry, having been in it as long as she could remember. Her mother had sold her to a whorehouse when she was but 5, and by the age of 13, had earned herself quite a reputation.

Always one to be up to date with the latest fashion trends, L'Avante rarely ever wears the same clothing. She has, however, mastered the art of fighting - and running - in high heeled stilettos. Quite well, really. Many a men had found out the hard way that heels hurt a hell of a lot more than regular flats. Sometimes, it was part of the job. Other times... not as much, but that made it even more fun.

L'Avante was the fifth man she had married. The previous four had all died, quite tragically, if she was any judge of deaths. Technically, only two of them were by her hand. The other two had killed each other. She hadn't the faintest idea why - it hadn't seemed like that bad of an idea to be married to both men at the same time.

Bast's Caress had actually come to her while she was working. Cat Scratch Alley was perhaps the most well known of all the houses, home to the famous Hana-ko: the flower girls. These girls were among the most interesting, the most talented, and the most expensive of the women in the entire industry. And Peony lived among them, rumored to drive a man wild with simply her use of touch. One night, a man had come into her service, complaining that no other woman had been able to give him earthly pleasures anymore. Turned out that he was none other than the avatar of Bast. He had brought the claws with him, and he practically gave them to her. So he was at quite a loss when she killed him the old fashioned way: a tender kiss of death and a slit to the throat, just to be sure. After that, the claws were as good as hers. With the claws of another God in her hands, it was only a matter of time before her own Goddess, Aphrodite, offered her a spot in Valhalla and the chance to be one of Her Avatars. Never one to pass up the chance for eternal beauty and a wrinkle free image, surrounded by heros of past and present, Peony L'Avante accepted, and became another Avatar of Aphrodite, weilder of Bast's Caress.

More Blades
Storage again~ biggrin

god: Bast or Asclepius
weapon: claws
name: Temptress // Bast's Caress // Lingering Touch // Cattus Carezza // False Embrace

One must be careful not to make a fist with [Bast's Caress], for these claws extend one's paws - or fingers - through the usage of finger sheaths. Starting at the knuckle, the claws are held in place using decorated gauntlets, to protect the back of the hand as well as the forearm. The gauntlets have a soft layer against the skin for comfort as well as a durable metal outside that can be used to block or defend that has been colored black with silver etchings. From the knuckle upwards, the claws are made with a fortified material that can withstand the pressure of the deepest depths, segmented at each joint to allow for flexible movement.

The ends of the claws extend in an arc shape to a maximum of six inches, minimum of one depending upon what the avatar prefers. The default length is three inches.
Another feature of [Bast's Caress] is it's ability to change forms just by exerting an extra amount of energy and thinking about the new form - often called the "Nine Lives" form. This new form fuses the outer protection of the claws with the avatar's own body, making everything up to their forearm into part of a weapon that looks an awful lot like a regular hand - except for the fact that the avatar's fingers are normally half an inch longer than normal, fingers tapering into points instead of being rounded off like normal fingers. These can extend up to twelve inches and are as durable and hard as diamond. Made to hurt - a lot.

In addition to causing physical changes to the avatar, the claws serve as ability enhancers, making the user a bit more cat-like. They gain heightened senses, such as the ability to see with less light and sensitivity to sound. [Bast's Caress] are meant to be a more offensive weapon, playing off the avatar's enhanced agility and speed to allow the avatar to engage in close range combat. It is also not unknown for avatars to cling to their victim, for not only does it make them a lot harder to hit (depending on where they cling to) but also allows for more of their poison to enter the body.

Each tip has a needlefine point that excretes a toxin unless the avatar deliberately chooses not to- some of them fast acting, others not, but all of them different, and all of them quite deadly.

Pinkie: AKA: "Party" Contains a combination of barbituates. Low dosages can result in intoxication similar to alcohol intoxication (slurred speech, loss of motor control, impaired judgement), hence the name, but high dosages can be quite lethal, as it is the drug of choice used for lethal injections.
Ring Finger: Contains hematoxins similar to that of a snake's, which affects the blood, causes swelling and burning, as well as destroys tissues if not healed.
Middle Finger: Neurotransmitters found in Black Widows that causes muscle pain, vomiting, cramping, hypertension, etc. Persists for a while, paralysis possible.
Index Finger: Uses batrachotoxin, found in Poison Dart Frogs. Causes nerve paralysis, heart problems and other general unpleasantries.
Thumb: Excretes botulin toxin, one of the deadliest toxins that exist naturally. One drop can kill 50,000 people - but in very very minute dosages, it can be used to relax muscles (making it quite useful to dispel wrinkles). Generally not used if slashing.

Note about the toxins: Every poison but the thumb can be created by the weapon - the thumb's botulin toxin exist in limited amounts that must be refilled.

Well, I had a proposal mostly written up, but then I made my computer crash by changing the language to some really random obscure language, and it made my computer go KAPOOF. sweatdrop ANyways, I have two proposals, kinda. I dunno which one I like more. I mean, I like them both, but one is kinda more silly than the other.

...as a sidenote, why do we say WMD? That abbreviation's almost as long as the acutal word. >_>;

Bubbles of Love: Makes people happy and less willing to fight.

...I think I'm done with the first? biggrin There are probably things that need fixing... I wrote this during finals so I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something...

Anyways~ *hugs* 4laugh
