I've been away for a while, but I'm back- just in time for the holidays. I threw together a little holiday outfit for the occasion. smile

GO DUREM!
So, if you've seen my avi lately, you'll know I support Durem for the water balloon fight.

Anyways, there's been a lot of mudslinging between the teams, but I've found (on Durem at least) that there's a lot of positive team spirit. People making banners and songs and special contests and free art and all sorts of fun stuff! Best show of Durem support: The Phoenix Wright thread, with the cast talking to players and supporting their town!

However, I love special event items too much, and had to get my hands on the other team shirts! Not really seeing any in the Marketplace, I helped Durem and got my hands on the threads with a couple of mules.

Speaking of the Marketplace, a LOT of people are upset over the 2% fee. I think the beta testing is a good way to determine whether or not it works, and I think Gaia will ditch it if it doesn't. However, there has been some craziness in the Gaian economy, so I'm willing to give it a try.

Along the same lines, many users have been rallying against the changes taking place across the site. I was wary at first, but I've truly enjoyed the new content.

Gaia is trying to expand its capabilities, growing beyond the forums with a few games attached. When I first joined, I didn't see how Gaia was going to be able to hold my attention. But all the new features coming out, along with the quests and events, has kept me signing back on. There will always be dissenters, but I am excited at the Gaia's innovations, and am thrilled to be around to see them rolled out.

For those who don't think the staff at Gaia listens, I would point to a couple of new items, like the Spartan outfit, MC mermaid tail, and summer event Media Pack. Each of these was in response to user demand, and these are just a few of the examples I could give.

*gets off soapbox* Sorry to get all serious there, just had a few things to get off my chest!

So, it's been a month since my last post. Well, that's what happens when work interferes with play.

As it happens, today is my birthday! Yay for me!

And I'm using the Sayoran items for a nice steampunk look. I think I need to change my hair- bright red isn't quite what I need for this.

So there have been a few quests lately (Tsubasa, Gracie, Nancy Drew) and a lot of people aren't too impressed with the items. So I made an avatar using the Nancy Drew item and submitted it to the Avatar Arena.

I've been somewhat negligent of Gaia lately- got some RL stuff goin' on.

Anyways, I started a thread specifically for me to bump for gold. And it always amuses me when someone else stumbles across it and posts.

So my latest avi is nice. Finally saved (and borrowed) enough to nab a Gift of the Goddess- at a good price, too!

I have one of the Egyptian dresses, and I'm trying to go for a Greek muse look. Heh, maybe I'll even submit it in the avatar arena.

So the Easter event is pretty much a copy of the St. Patrick's Day event. That's kinda disappointing.

At least the chickies are kinda cute.

Haha, anyone else have fun on April Fool's Day?

I actually had problems opening the black gift box (some database error), so originally I thought it was just a present you couldn't get. But the platinum halo is cute. I bought another one for kicks. Kicks and selling for lots o' cash at a very much later date.

So, as you can see from my avi, I'm really starting to get into the Collectible Items. I can't help it! There's always something neat I like about them

For example, the moon version of the Mythic Hair is so pretty, and definitely my style. And the Spirit Falcon gets me a cool set of wings. And I've always loved the Winter Rose dress- so classy!

I'll probably get next month's items, as well. I wonder what they'll be this time. . .
