He said many things, but mostly lies...

They said he was dead, but he came in my dreams...
They said he was gone, but he came back one night...
They said he gave up, but he never did...
They said he fell below, but he rose above...
They said many things, but they all hurt...

My mind said to give in, but I never did listen...
My mind said to cry out, but I screamed instead...
My mind said it was all lies, but it was the truth...
My mind said to forget him, but my heart never did...
My mind said many things, but I never listened...

My freinds said to forget him, but I kept him inside me...
My freinds said to move on, but I stayed in place...
My freinds said to get a life, but I already had one...
My freinds said to stand strong, but I fell into sorrow...
My freinds said they were true, but they werent my true freinds...

My spirit said to keep my head high, so I did...
My spirit said to let him live in me, so I did...
My spirit said to let it show, so I did...
My spirit said to never give in, so I did...
