I'm in very hot water right now.

GPA= Grade Point Average
-B, C, C, D.
(By the way, if you're wondering which I'm sure you are, the D was in Intro to Economy. The B was in Political-Science 01.)
3+2+2+1=8/4=2.0
Semester GPA=2.0

Today I realized this means I earned the lowest acceptable GPA. And I am now on "Academic Probation", according to my university, for that D. Oh, and that stays on my transcript for ********. Any lower than a 2.0 GPA means dismissal from this university if an appeal is not made. Meaning, I'd get kicked out. If that -B were a C I'd have a 1.75 GPA... Holy. ********. ********. That D could and will probably kill my chances of getting into a high quality graduate school. I'm so disgusted in myself about this, how I let this happen.

Being over 18, the Office of Registrar notification letter was addressed to me, quite luckily. I don't want to ruin the holiday spirit in my house by upsetting my parents with my ugly a** GPA. Hell, I don't even want to think about it. I'll deeply consider my study habits after New Year's Eve. For now let me enjoy the holidays. School can leave me alone for a quick sec.

Meanwhile, this May my significant other graduated with a 4.0 semester GPA from another university. Said person is now studying as a 1st year graduate student at the university I'm in now. (We attend the same school but we're studying completely different subjects.) Said person received an A for their one and only class this semester so is consequently starting off strong with a 4.0. I really hope I marry this person...

I'm not a ******** idiot, seriously, I'm not. I just don't study nearly as much as I need to. Why? Maybe because my study habits suck, but definitely because I don't devote my time to studying. I always think in the back of my mind that it'll change, but damn, this 2.0 semester GPA ******** SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, my New Year's Resolution will be this. I will prepare for my classes much better. I will go to the library if need be to concentrate on my studies. I will not be distracted by petty things when I return to my dorm room from class. I will not over-indulge in free time because a low GPA will be the result, as learned the very hard way.
