I'm writing this with a heavy heart.
I don't think I can stay here much longer. It's just gotten to be too much for me. Everyday there's at least four announcements for the cash shop. New item here, new recolor there, Flynn's Booty here. It's just turned me completely off. I used to spend hours here because there was so much to do. I could play games, make some gold, dress up my avatar, get some art, and so many other things. Technically, I can still do those things but it's just different. Gaia has changed. Everything has changed. Even me.
I've tried time and time again to support Gaia's actions. Saying that the old site is still there; that you can still have fun without spending any money. But what kind of message does it send to your users when every announcement is about the Cash Shop? And it would be one thing if they were offering us unique well-designed items each time. But they aren't. All we get are re-colors. Re-colors that I could do in twenty minutes with the right tools.
It's just to see this site deteriorate into this. A money-grubbing shell of what it used to be. Now that isn't to say that I take issue with the staff - old-timers like Uncle Kenny, codemonkey, siskataya, etc. I just can't continue to support this website. It's not worth my hard-earned money anymore.
So I'll continue to log on some days, but I think the best course of action would be to take an indefinite hiatus.
