Dear Diary:
It has been at least half a year since I was rescued, if you will, from the streets by Mrs. Stowner. She has taught me a great deal of things besides chores. She taught me to read and write and I feel very accomplished from that. I suppose it's what she did when she was a governess.
I have just had my birthday and I am on my way to becoming more of a lady. Nothing has changed. I keep my hair in a bun instead of pigtales, to make me look more mature.
My friend Savarette complemented my new hairstyle. Says that I do look more mature.
