Some one asked me what I was doing out in the hot sun today
so I thought for a moment before I turned around to say.
Well if you must really know...
I am just sitting on a log,
wishing I was a frog.
Or maybe a sunflower growing in the soil,
free from stress and free from toil.
Or possibly soaring through the air,
without hardly a worry or a care,
much like a bird would.
Or maybe I should,
just maybe wish,
that I was a fish.
Or I wouldn't put it past the life of a tree,
to be the kind of life for me.
It might be nice to be a cat,
they seem to know where the best hiding spots are at.
Of course the life of a bunny,
would seems to be as sweet as hunny.
But the life of a bear,
it too seems just as fair.
A lizard can be some fun,
just lying around in the sun.
The life of a dog also seems as good,
as any other life should.
But through all these wishes and mights,
the life of a bat taking flight in the nights,
can't really be too bad.
But in the end the only life that I think will make me glad,
is my life, sitting here on this log,
just wishing I could have the life of a frog.
