The End of Summer
Where I live, the wind sounds an awful lot like the sound of the sea. I used to live in a place where the ocean was only a few miles away. I didn't visit the beach as often as I should have, now that I think about it. It was one of those things you take for granted when it's there, and miss when it's gone.
Summertime is drawing to a close. Kids are going back to school, and slowly the days will start turning colder. Even though I love the fall, I think summer is still my favorite season. There is something comforting about the warmth; I hate being cold. Even during the winter, I love to sit over the floor heater with a blanket over my legs and just let the warm air balloon the blanket up around me. It's like being wrapped in a cocoon.
I also dislike driving in the snow. Rainy days are fine, even encouraged, but not snow day. Not when I have to shovel it, or try to keep my car under control while driving to work.
