My Adventure Log
A journal of my adventures and events that happen as I travel with the princess and my rescue team. Will update as my story progresses.
Temple in the Desert Sands (Aoi)

Getting onto the floating ship was pretty easy with my Gravity Boots. I was able to walk onto the ship's deck like the whole thing was a small planet. It was a lot like that Doomship that Mat talked about. I began to look around. This place was a lot bigger than I thought. A lot more...... twisted, too.

I came to a door leading outside. What I saw was that I wasn't anywhere near my island anymore. Below..... it was more like a sea, but not really a sea at all. I was just leaning over when I get attacked from behind and thrown off.

When I came to, I found myself on that sea..... A sea of sand and heat. It seemed endless, and I was stuck in the middle of it.

Everywhere I walked, it looked exactly the same. Sand, sand, and even more sand.... or so I hoped. I took one step, and then I started to sink. It was quicksand. I've heard of it before, but I never seen it. I was told that there was quicksand on my island, but it was in the deepest part of the jungle, the part that was forbidden for us. But it wsa too late now. I was up to my waist in the sand. My last chance was something I snuck off with: a breathing mask that Mat stole during our raid.

I put it on just before I was swallowed up. All I could see was sand, but after sinking low enough, I hit something. It felt solid, maybe even hollow. I went into a spin and broke through. I was right.

Inside, it seemed like a hallway. A dark hallway. I couldn't see a thing. Then again, I was in some place deep below the surface of the desert. Best to try and get out first.

I came to a big room, and there were a few lit torches, so I could at least see. There was this statue of a giant mutant scorpion in the middle, a bunch of pillars with writing on them, but were in a strange language I've never heard of. "I wonder where I am?" I asked myself.

As I looked around the room, I saw an orange jewel on top of the statue. I leapt up to get it, but when I touched it, I found myself outside, above the sand. I then saw a sinkhole open up nearby and what looked like that statue crawled out. It had three eyes, two on its arms, and a big one on its back, big claws, about six legs, and a long tail with a sharp point on the end. It looked real and not stone-like at all.

I pulled out my blade and chased after it. It lashed its tail out, but I jumped over it and slashed at one of its eyes, causing it to stagger a little. "Aha, the eyes are this thing's weak points! Now I can finish it off and get out of here!"

I jumped and attacked the other eye, leaving the one on its back for last. I didn't suspect that it would summon spectres to protect its eye, but they wouldn't be a match for my Sword of Spirits. It was getting to the ghosts themselves where the problem was. I then saw my chance as its tail swung at me again. I jumped onto it as it swung and I could break down the shield of spectres. I jumped off before it swung again and I thrusted downwards, stabbing its last eye.

Right after I delivered the finishing blow, I found myself back in the statue room, except that the statue itself was gone. In its place was a stone pillar with the orange jewel in it. I removed it and gazed upon its otherworldly beauty. "I wonder what it's for? Maybe it's a key or something?"

I kept thinking about what the gem was for when I tripped over a big crack in the floor and fell into a pit. I kept falling...... falling...... endlessly falling.......
