Gundam: SEED Destiny *SPOILERS* 5/10
*This is definitely a rant topic. This is only my opinion and please respect that. I'm open to any discussion about the anime's I've listed below here*

There are a lot of different sagas which were good and bad. My favorite has to be gundam: seed or 00. ~_~ NOT seed destiny cuz that while story had sooo many "WT...F"?? moments throughout most of the episodes.

The first few episodes where good. I really thought the plot was going somewhere with the whole genesis 7 or whatever it was called thing crashing down on earth. In reality, the whole earth would be messed up (as it shows up in a spin off called seed stargazer(?)) and there wouldn't be any towns or 1st world luxuries. But lets set that aside. Then this whole blue cosmos thing sounded good at first. I got the fact that they wanted to make a profit off of a war and start one up again which was still running pretty smoothly up until the whole stella (stellar?) thing. As someone who was watching though both the english dub and the english sub translation, the dub people really tried to not make her seem as mentally retarded (not trying to offend people with that word) than she really was. She had the second kewlest gundam on the show (which was basically a mix between a zoid and a transformer) and it was waisted after 4 battles. The kewl thing though is that it was shown once again after she trashed it but it was piloted by Andrew Waltfeld? Where did that come from? It all just really feel through the floor when she went all psycho and destroyed so much. I just thought that Stella (Stellar?) was just such a horrible character I really wished Shin didnt rescue her. In fact, he shouldve drowned with her! burning_eyes

Now for one of the main character's Shin. He's definitely on my list on the top of my top 5 worst protagonists (If you would call him one). What a jerk. From episode 2 this punk keeps on whining about orb and his how no one takes him seriously. Ultimately his puberty took him to some crazy adolescence trip to become everyone's favorite a*****e.

Athrun. This was the only character I really liked at all in SEED Destiny. They made him seem more of a protagonist in this half of the series than they did in Gundam SEED which was refreshing from watching kira all day and his depression. However, Throughout the Destiny saga he was such a wuss with his Casanova skills. I kept on rooting for Lunamaria because she was a much more suitable character but she went through her own problems and ended up with an a*****e.

Kigalli was kewl but there was that much chemistry between her and Athrun. Worst of all, she had THE KEWLEST GUNDAM IN THE HISTORY OF ALL GUNDAM SERIES and totally trashes it the first time she uses it. HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG WITH A GOLDEN GUNDAM?!?! gonk scream I didn't have that many expectations for her as a pilot to begin with since shes not a co-ordinator, but come on. There was soo much hype to her using it when her father gives a tear-jerker speech (It was a damn good speech), and then it just dindt follow through with its promise. I'm glad she gave it to the salvation army and laflagga picked it up. He used it much more than she could ever do with it.

Neo, Laflagga? He just needed soo much more plot development than a 15 second flashback to explain how he got brainwashed in the very last episode. Damn, it wasn't so much of a shock that he was neo but I know everyone had to ask how the hell is he evil for a good number of episodes. I just felt the whole mask thing was just totally cliché coming from the makers of
gundam. Zechs was kewl, that clone of laflagga's father was.....weird, but it has to stop.

Lastly, after the whole thing with blue cosmos was over, it just fell apart. It was a huge wtf moment for me just because what the chancellor was trying to explain was kinda confusing. After the leader was dead it should've been over. Roll credits. It would've been soo much better than a bunch of episodes explaining the whole cloning thing and Shin crying his heart out on a meteor with luna. Oh Luna...you had such potential.

Overall, it was a huge disappointment in terms of plot. The things I liked about it was how many gundams there were in the show which was great. There were a lot of great models. Sadly, the greatest characters didn't get that much attention even though they were pretty big characters in the first part of the series. I honestly loved Yzak, and Dearka but can't recall if their gundams were destroyed or they traded them in for 3rd rate zakus which was a huge disappointment.

If you have the time to waste and you liked the first series, then I guess it was fun to watch the gundams, but I can't stop thinking what I would've done with that spare time..

This anime gets a score of a 5/10. The first part of the series was great and this one had a lot of promise, but just didn't cut it. Animation was fine but a lot of the cut scenes were copied and pasted from other episodes when it came to the dogfight scenes (definitely in both series closer to the last episodes). The music openings and endings weren't that great but I definitely give a lot of props to HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOR for their own opening song and a split second cameo in one of the magazines Shin is reading in one of the first episodes. My explanation for the story part of my rating should be self explanatory if you read this article. However I had a lot of fun watching the battles and there is a lot of credit that should be given for this anime.
