Sickening.
The G-Blade. You can't expect me to actually go around wielding something pro-Gambino, can you? Don't be ridiculous. When the sisters return there will be domination--

Let's tear into the layout.
Okay, now, what the ********? Seriously. I kind of completely hate the new layout. It makes it so freaking hard to get around. I just want to go to the map! I have to totally re-work my navigation system of this website. My super-speed way of getting what I needed to do finished on Gaia has just been completely shattered.

It all sounds like one giant ******** advertisement. "Write in your very own online journal!" Not only does it sound like an advertisement, but it sounds like an advertisement geared towards ten-year-olds. I've never thought of it as "dressing up" my avatar. It disgusts me to have to click "dress up" every time I feel the need to edit my avatar. Please, please don't attract the ten-year-olds. I did not come to Gaia to socialize with ten-year-olds. Send them to Neopets, for god's sake.

What, do they think this is going to make it easier for the noobs? HAH. I think this is the most confusing thing I've ever seen. It's easier to explore the map yourself. The only thing that this layout has going for it is the shopping feature. That's pretty damn convenient, but I still think it's a whole bunch of nonsense.

I wouldn't mind this so much if you could choose to use the old layout or the new one, but I'm stuck with this s**t. Everything I've grown accustomed to on GO is totally gone, and I'm upset.

Change is good, but not when it rapes you in the a**.

Bertschy's uber rant
"
Quote:
2) I don't want English voice actors unless hired by Disney and the creator of Naruto. Also, a translator better be present with him. In the japanese version, they had professional voice actors, and the director .. uh.. DIRECTED them. I say Disney, because they've been doing a consistently good job with the Miyazaki movie voice-overs.

3) A team who is fluent in English and Japanese. Like the sub-groups A-keep or ANBU. They could do all the translating.
e:

Oh, wow. You obviously don't know the process.

There is always a director of the English dubs, in fact I know some of them personally. Taliesin Jaffe, Crispin Freeman? They're buddies of mine. The idea of English dubs is not to make it identical to the Japanese acting. If it was, they wouldnt' dub it. The directors don't want their actors to sound the same as the Japanese, they want them to act, not imitate. There is more than one artistic interpretation of a script and how lines are said, and the English directors definitely have the right to use theirs. The Japanese obviously don't mind: they sold it to them.

Translation. It's always well translated. It isn't an issue of translation, it's an issue of lip-flap. The English script modifiers have to alter things so the speech looks natural and begins and ends when the character's mouth starts and stops moving. It's sometimes necissary, unfortunately, to alter lines.

Granted, there are some companies who do it badly, because they hired a bad director or actor, or they have a deadline, or their budget is too small. But it's very rarely an issue of bad directors. and it definitely isn't an issue of nonexistent directors.

Please don't make flaming comments like these when you don't know how things operate. It hurts the people who do understand, and it hurts the good English voice actors and directors. They spend so much time to make it decent, it's very rude of you to cut them down when you don't understand how it's done. ;_;"

I hate crazy purists. stare
