Possessed am I, by two a being
One is Reason who always sees
The other, Ignorance, refusing all
She, in end, shall be my fall
Now, Reason is my darkest part
She sees the world and knows her part
Yet, she is hidden, away in mind
Coming out, when right the time
She watches, eyes wide
She finds, not hides
She, my Reason, knows the truth
Even in her prime and ruptured youth
Now Ignorance rules much more
Winning each a challenge or a war
But she refuses to believe
In what her eyes refuse to see
Yes, she watches, with apt skill
But all is usless when eyes are ill
They, poor things are closed behind
A pair of blockades of the mind.
And this the soul, to rein so free
Is funer then the other me
So I guess I let her stay
Refusing all I learn each day
But soon, an omen states so clear
That I will leave her, for the seer
And when she leaves, and 's gone 'way
Then dear Reason, forever, stays.
