Funnest thing we learned in Spanish I was a story for the days of the week. It went like this: One day, a man was walking through the forest when he heard singing. As he went closer, he found a ring of elves dancing in a circle and singing the same words over and over.
¡Lunes, martez, miercoles tres! (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday three!)
As the man watched, he thought he should give a gift to the elves. And so he stepped out of the forest and sang out in his beautiful voice: *No, the beautiful voice part wasn't there when I heard it. But it sure as hell is now!*
¡Jueves, viernes, sabado seis! (Thursday, Friday, Saturday six!)
The elves that had stopped singing and dancing when the man had entered began again with renewed vigor, singing the lines; new and old. They were so happy that they decided to thank the man by granting him great fortune in life. Unbeknownst to the man and elves, another man was hiding in the forest and had seen the whole thing. He also wished to be granted a fairy's favor and so jumped into the clearing shouting:
¡Y domingo es siete! (And Sunday is seven!)
The elves stopped dancing and singing once more and turned to the intruder enraged, because nothing rhymes with siete. And then they killed him. The end. mrgreen
