I am cursed, or I curse people, I'm not sure which yet.
I'm starting to notice that every time I pick a favorite character, they die. stare
They usually end up coming back in some way shape or form, but then they die AGAIN! gonk
Or they are substituted and the substitute dies.
Examples:
1. Last Herald mage series, favorite character, Tylendel. Commits suicide. Reincarnated as Stef. Stef's/Tylendel's lover dies. He lives in sadness for a long time, then he dies to be with ghost-y Vanyel. He's still D-E-A-D.
2. Gunslinger Series, favorite character, Jake. Here's a keeper. He was pushed infront of a car in New York, he died... then he woke up (does that count as waking up dead?) in a different world. He was then pushed off a cliff. But then some one stopped him from dying the first time so he never died the second time. That was making him a little crazy, so they pulled him back into the other world. He fought for a few more books before he jumped in front of a car to save the author and his father figure, so he died. But then they opened up a door and he's alive with the other dead guy now risen. This neverreally is explaned...
3. Arrows series, favorite character, Kris. Met in book one, never really talked about. Main character in book two, seems perfect (which is why I suspected the next bit). Book three: Horrible-Gruesome-Pinful death... xp
4. Princess Bride, Favorite character, Westley. Met. Dissappears. Found. Turtured. Killed. Revived. I haven't gotten much further than that yet.
You get the idea.
