The way I think
No one is going to read it but I'm going to write in here anyway, random things, thoughts .... etc.
Darkness and Memories complete!
Well, might as well post all of it from the beginning. Note: has crappy ending because I was sort of in a rush (Actually I kinda think the whole thing it bad) but here it is

Darkness and Memories

I have killed so many that I have lost count.
My hands, my body has been stained with blood.
My eyes have seen countless of people fall to their demise.
I can hear their pleads to spare their pitiful lives
But I don’t care. I stopped caring long ago,
Back when my heart was broken and when I couldn’t smile that carefree smile anymore.

I have won so many battles but really I’m losing,
I’m losing the battle with the darkness that surrounds me and my heart.
Everything I do or did was in vain; when I killed I couldn’t feel anything.
No joy, grief, sadness, anger, agony; nothing.
Nothing at all; as if I was just an empty shell.

I am feared by people. I am called a demon.
Those who cross paths with me will never see day-light again.
If I don’t kill them, they will die anyway.
I have nothing left to live for, everything is gone.
So why do I continue walking forward?
It’s so I won’t go back. After all, it’s not like I could.

When I walk by, people will hide.
They all disappear, staying out of sight.
I’m glad they do, I don’t want to see blood again; not today.

A long shadow is cast behind me as the sun is setting.
The darkness behind me reminds me that it will always be around me.
When I close my eyes, the memories come flooding back
The only memories that don’t consist of blood and gore,
but light and happy memories.

Suddenly, I can feel my eyes sting and something moist trickling down my face.
What is this feeling, why is this happening?
I lost myself a long time ago. Why now of all times?
I am known as a demon, not a weak and feeble child.
I’m not a child who was left to live a life like this.
But really, I was in denial for all these years.
I couldn’t bear to think that I wouldn’t be able to see my family again.
I couldn’t bear to think that those were the last of the memories I would have with them before they were unfairly murdered.
What did I do to deserve such an awful punishment?
To live without the ones I hold dear.
I hate people, I hate humans and I hate all of mankind for what they have done.
But really, how can I say such things?
The ones I loved were human too, they were such kind people.
If only they weren’t gone. If they hadn’t, what would I be now?
Would I be the way I once was?
Sharing hugs and kisses and responding to their endearments?
Would it have changed if they were still breathing?

I walked by a shrine, reminding me of the one close to where I used to live.
For some reason I wandered into it, curiously, tainting it’s purity with my dark essence.
There I saw a young boy about my age sweeping the grounds.
It seems he has noticed my presence and turned around to greet me.
Just when his eyes laid on my face, they dilated.
I knew I shouldn’t have come into the shrine but just when I turned around, he smiled kindly, like the smiles I remember.
Now this time, I was the one in shock.
Doesn’t he know what I am? Doesn’t he know what I have done?
I have killed so many that I don’t deserve to be treated with kindness.
Who is he or should I say, what is he?

Though, looking at him now; he seems familiar.
Like I’ve seen him somewhere before. But where?
This is bugging me. Where have I seen him?

“Are you okay, miss?” the boy asked, breaking my thoughts.
“I guess so. Ah, have I seen you before?”
This was my second shock of the day, my voice. I hadn’t talked to anyone since that happened. I was surprised how my voice sounded so sweet and pure, like nothing had changed.
But everything had changed.
“Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing. I feel I have met you before but I don’t know where,” the boy laughed. “Oh, by the way my name is Yoshiro. What’s your’s?”
“Um … it’s Miu” I replied.
“Your name is Miu?” I nodded. He frowned at this. “Are you Suzuki Miu?”
I gasped. “How did you know my last name, Yoshiro-san?”
“Because, I had a childhood friend who looked like a younger version of you and had the same first name,” Yoshiro stated.
“Oh” said I, softly.
“Do you remember my family name?”
I tried to think back. Then, suddenly, “Is your last name, Miyamoto?”
Yoshiro grinned, “You remember!” I felt a small smile creep onto my face.

“What happened back then, where did you go? Everyone was looking for any survivors from your clan and we noticed that you weren’t there. Miu, please tell me.” Yoshiro pleaded.
I had a downcast look on my face. “Well, I couldn’t stand just being alone and letting them get away!” My opal-like orbs flashed with anger and determination. “I will get them, even if it’s the last thing I do.”
Yoshiro looked worried, “Well, be careful, okay Miu-kun?”
“Sure, don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine; after all I’m the demon that has taken more than a thousand lives.”

He just stared at me in awe as I flashed a toothy grin and walked out of the shrine, leaving my darkness lingering behind me.

“I hope she’ll be okay,” Yoshiro thought and then starting sweeping the shrine’s grounds like he was before his surprise visitor came.

5 years later

Only a few months after that fateful encounter with Yoshiro; a war broke out. I wasn’t really surprised when I found out who started it, the Watanabe clan. The very reason I was here in the first place; the only reason I fight. The Watanabe clan was one of the clans that ruled over a part of the country like my clan use to. The Watanabe clan was always power hungry and never care about the people of their land, while my clan, the Suzuki, lived peacefully and often interacted with the people, taking into consideration what they go through during the year. The Watanabe hated the Suzuki and the Suzuki wanted nothing more than peace throughout the country but the Watanabe would not hear of it. That lead to the desire to destroy the Suzuki clan and it happened. I don’t know how but all I know is that they did it and I’m fighting in this war for my family and my revenge.

This tiring war has been going on for awhile now but it seems to be closing to an end. After all, after being on the battlefield and avoiding death by the skin of your teeth isn’t exactly what you would want to be doing for the rest of your life. I had four of my birthdays on this battlefield and I didn’t have any intention of having another one at this hell hole. During the long battle, I had gotten to know a group that hated the Watanabe as much as I, but for different reasons. The first of the group I met was Niwa Daisuke. He was a 20 year old who had spiky strawberry red hair and a set of ruby eyes that were always cheerful to match. Next were Iida Isamu and his younger brother Hiroshi. Isamu was 27 and had dark chestnut hair and calculating grey eyes while Hiroshi was 24 with light chestnut hair along with deep blue eyes. Last was Yuuta. He had just turned 27 a few weeks ago and had something like light straw coloured hair and a rare golden eye colour that was not natural for people in this land but then I could have said the same thing about my eyes.

I met them when I was outnumbered by the enemy; I was 12 turning 13 at the time. I took over half of the group down to their death but by that time I was tired and slightly wounded. One of the adversaries tried to finish me off when I was down but a bright red flash intervened and the man was killed before he had the chance.
“Are you alright?” a young man asked. It was Daisuke, though I didn’t know that at the time. I nodded my head since I wasn’t able to find my voice at that time. Daisuke knew who I was and when I found out that he was of the Niwa clan, I was very happy. The Niwas use to be a very good ally of the Suzuki and I often visited their home. Daisuke then introduced me to Isamu, Hiroshi and Yuuta and from then on we all got along from there.

We got ready to infiltrate the castle. This was the moment everyone was waiting for; five long years of fighting a meaningless battle will end here. The battlefield being the castle grounds. We were told only to spare those who wish not to fight, either man or woman and we agreed. I was nervous. The very man who was the reason my family was dead was going to die tonight and his family would suffer. Funny how things had turned out, isn’t it? I felt something warm squeeze my hand tightly. It was Daisuke. “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” he said with that carefree smile. Hiroshi joined in the conversation. “Yeah and if you get into any trouble, we’re here to help!”
“Stop grinning like idiots, you two,” Yuuta growled and then bursted out laughing at the reaction he got from the two. Isamu gave one of his rare smiles because of the scene. “My younger brother and Niwa-kun are right, if you need any help just call for us, okay?” Isamu said, still smiling. I nodded.
We got into positions.
Tonight is the night where we strike and make history.

The sky was dark and the full moon cast its soft, bright light onto us. We were slowly approaching the castle borders. Most of the villagers that saw us just pretended that they didn’t and smiled at us. It seems that they had been waiting for this for a long time. We spilt the army into cells comprising three men each and moved off into different areas. In my group there was Hiroshi, Daisuke and me; which I found lucky because they were people I actually get along with.
Unfortunately, Hiroshi stepped on a twig and woke one of the guards up. “He he, whoops?” Hiroshi said nervously.
“Arrrggghhh, no wonder your Isamu-san calls you an idiot,” I hissed as I took three senbon needles and threw them at the guard. He fell to the ground with a thud and then we took a deep breath. “That was too close,” Daisuke just said, sighing with relief.
“Sorry, guys. I guess I’m not good at this sneaking stuff.” Hiroshi stated.
“It took you that long to figure that out? You could have gotten us killed!” I retorted as I walked over the guard. You won’t be getting up for awhile, I thought. As we entered the castle, I got a shiver up my spine. “We should be careful, you never know if they have noticed anything strange yet,” I contemplated.
“Yeah, yeah. You’re too cautious for your own good, Miu-kun,” Hiroshi said in a bored tone. For this comment, Hiroshi received a whack on the head from Daisuke. “What was that for?!” Hiroshi half-yelled because of the current situation.
“That was for that remark you just pulled, Hiroshi. Miu-kun isn’t too cautious, you’re not being cautious enough. One screw up and it could be our lives,” Daisuke retorted.
“For someone younger than me by four years, you sure are a lot smarter and cool-headed than me,” Hiroshi said with a smirk on his face.
“Thank you Hiroshi-san. I’ll take that as a complement.” Daisuke countered as we walked around the castle. There were so many different rooms, all decorated in a different colour or theme. Wow, I haven’t been here in awhile. I hasn’t changed much. I looked in awe at all of the rooms we passed. They sure built up a lot of wealth after all those years. “Geez, it’s like a maze in here. Wonder how the other cells are doing,” Hiroshi thought out-loud.
“They are probably fine, after all the rest of the cells are comprised of older people,” I replied. Hiroshi and Daisuke just stared at me and then smiled. Why do they all ways do that? It’s annoying.

We finally made it to the end of the long hallway and made it to a pair of stairs. “Should we go up them?” Hiroshi asked. I thought for awhile. I remember the castle vaguely but I wasn’t sure. “Let’s go up the stairs” I said. Daisuke and Hiroshi just stared at me again though this time they stared at me as if I had gone made. “What?!” they cried out in unison. I covered their mouths before they could say anything else. “Are you completely out of your mind?” Hiroshi whispered.
“No, I haven’t. At least, not that I know of,” I said as I ran my hand along a nearby wall. I closed my eyes, “I remember this place now. It’s been so long but I remember now.”
“That’s great!” Hiroshi cheered.
“To you think you can lead us to where Lord Watanabe is, Miu-kun?” Daisuke asked, politely. I nodded, “We go up the stairs and turn left. Follow the corridor and then turn right. Just follow me, okay?” They both nodded in approval and then we set off to the Lord Watanabe’s chambers. I suddenly noticed something and paused.
“What wrong, Miu-kun?” Hiroshi asked. I looked around, taking in our current position.
“Something isn’t right. This passage way isn’t what I remember.” I said, while looking around. “You sure that you’re not wrong?” Hiroshi asked. I glared at Hiroshi and he was a little bit taken back. “I guess not,” Daisuke remarked as Hiroshi recovered from the shock. “Sometime is definitely not right.”
“Can you tell what it is?” Hiroshi asked when his nerves finally calmed down enough to let him talk. I closed my eyes for a few moments. Something in the air was strange. There was something there; I just couldn’t tell what it was. God this is annoying! Then I noticed something else amiss.

“Get down!” I yelled. A ball and chain swung just above our heads. If we were still standing up at the very moment; we would had lost our heads. “Okay, that was closer than that incident with the stick,” Hiroshi said nervously. Daisuke and I just looked at him.
“I guess you really do suck at this sneaking stuff, huh Hiroshi-san?” Daisuke just plainly stated. This got Hiroshi’s blood boiling just a tiny bit. “And I’m guessing that you’re a professional when it comes to sneaking around like a phantom thief!?” I just laughed at this. Hiroshi just gave me a have-you-gone-crazy stare. This made me laugh even more. “Well, the answer to that question is yes. The Niwa family are well known phantom thieves,” I replied in between fits of laughter. Hiroshi just stared at Daisuke in awe.
“Is what she said … true?” Hiroshi asked. Daisuke just looked at him with his ruby eyes and smiled, “I’ll leave that for you to figure out yourself”
“Awwww…. what? You can leave me hanging like this. That’s not fair Niwa-kun!” whined Hiroshi. Daisuke and I just doubled over while Hiroshi sat there pouting.
“We should be going. All we have to do is dispel the illusion,” I noted. I ran my hand along the wall and closed my eyes again. “Hey, Niwa-kun! Do you think you can use some of Dark’s magic and dispel the illusion?” Daisuke thought for awhile.
“It’s been awhile but I think I can with a bit of your help, Miu-kun” he said, smiling.
“Who’s Dark?” Hiroshi asked out of the blue. Daisuke and I just looked at each other then at Hiroshi. Do you think we should keep him out of misery and tell him? I asked Daisuke, telepathically.
Might as well. I mean, it might distract him from fighting will his full strength and brain,Daisuke replied, while I giggled.
“Who is Dark?” Hiroshi asked again.
“Dark is …” I started.
“… My other half” Daisuke finish and Hiroshi just stared at Daisuke in awe again.
“So both of you are saying that Niwa-kun’s other half is none other than the famous phantom thief Dark?” Hiroshi concluded. Daisuke and I just nodded. Hiroshi suddenly burst into laughter. Do you think he’s finally lost it? Daisuke asked.
Nah, he’ll get over it in a while. Or maybe not … I thought with a lot of doubt as I watched Hiroshi gasping for air, while still laughing. “You do notice that we have no time to be here laughing, Hiroshi-san. We have to get moving otherwise we might get caught,” I said as I tried to lift a hysterical Hiroshi onto his feet. “Okay, okay. I’m moving,” Hiroshi replied, now much calmer.
“Finally,” Daisuke commented. I took out a picture of a young lady Daisuke’s age called Riku. “Where did you get that from?” Daisuke asked, blushing furiously. “I still had Riku-san and Harada-san’s address so I was writing to them and they sent me this to show me how much they have changed over the years,” I replied, “I heard you liked Riku a lot and this is the only way to get you to turn into Dark other than throw you out the window there so your heart starts beating really fast.” Then it finally got to Daisuke, he couldn’t hold him in any longer. Daisuke’s hair grew a little longer and less spiky and his eyes had a more mature look to them. Finally both hair and eyes turned an amethyst. The transformation from Daisuke to Dark was complete. “Nice to see you again, Dark-san,” I said brightly. Hiroshi had gotten another shock. His pupils just dilated because of the scene he had just witnessed. “What … you …. What’s going on?” Hiroshi asked while trying to build his confidence back up. “It’s always nice to see you, Suzuki-chan and this is Iida Hiroshi, I believe. Nice to meet you, I’m Mousy Dark,” Dark said, coolly. “Um… nice to meet you as well,” Hiroshi replied, politely. I smiled and walked over to Dark, “Now, enough of this chit-chat, we have an illusion to dispel.”
“Whatever you say, Suzuki-san,” Dark smirked. It was a simple illusion so it didn’t take long for Dark and I to dispel it.

When the area finally returned to normal, we set off again. “I’m getting sick of running around just trying to find one man,” Hiroshi complained.
“Well, get use to it, because we are going to be doing it for awhile,” Dark retorted.
“Don’t worry; he has a right to complain. I mean, when you sign up to go to war you don’t expect that you will be snooping around in someone’s castle and trying to be quiet,” I commented. Dark just shrugged his shoulders, “Turn right and then turn right again, right Suzuki-san?” My mouth just dropped but then I closed it again and smile.
“How’d you know that, Dark-san?” I asked. We turned right and continued running.
“It’s not my first time here either,” Dark just stated. We turned right again. “Next is left and then we just keeping running.” I nodded in approval. Hiroshi just kept quiet; trying to figure out, in his mind, what on earth was going on. After what felt like days of running; we finally made it to the doors that lead to the chambers of Lord Watanabe.
“Well this is it,” I said as I slowly opened one of the doors. It made an eerie sounding creek. Behind the door there was a wall and nothing else. “Didn’t you say that this was the way to Lord Watanabe’s chambers? Don’t tell me it’s not another illusion,” Hiroshi said.
Dark placed his hand on one of Hiroshi’s shoulders, “No, this isn’t an illusion. This wall shows us that we are truly near Lord Watanabe’s chambers.”
I ran my hand along the wall, looking for something in particular, “Got it!” I pushed a brick and then the wall opened up revealing another corridor. This one wasn’t like the other ones. For one thing, the lights were on and it had a warm atmosphere. But this warm atmosphere was different from others; this one had a tint of darkness in it. A strong urge to possess things. “He’s nearby,” I suddenly said.
“How close is he?” asked Hiroshi.
“Very,” Dark concluded. I nodded. Dark was very good at stuff like this so it was easy for him to move around, especially when he had so many memories of this place.
“Damn, there are guards,” noted Hiroshi. I looked around and sure enough there were guards located at certain points. “But why are they are different areas?” Hiroshi asked.
“Because if anyone got here they want to have extra people and get them confused as to where that damn Watanabe is,” I said, gritting my teeth. Take a deep breath Miu, do not let past events get to you. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Dark-san, do you think that you can handle the guards and somehow get us to the door unnoticed?” I asked. Dark just grinned, “Now you know better then ask something like this of me …” Hiroshi let out a depressed sigh. “ … Because I’m the great phantom thief, Mousy Dark.” I knew what Hiroshi was thinking at that moment because I tapped into his mind, How does he get that sort of confidence in these situations? I smiled, “Just don’t get caught.”
“Sure. That’s won’t happen in a million years.” Dark slipped into the dark area of the corridor and created an illusion. This illusion made the guards think that they were still guarding there lord when, really, they were nowhere near him. “Good job, Dark-san,” I complimented. “Thanks, now let’s go visit someone we haven’t seen in awhile,” Dark suggested. “Who?” Hiroshi and I asked in unison. Dark stifled his laughter. I pouted while Hiroshi just glared at Dark. Dark just stared at us then smiled, “Lord Watanabe, of course! Oh and we might need to change into these.” Dark just held just three guard uniforms and there was a small size for me. “Don’t tell me you are thinking …” I asked, afraid of the answer. Dark just nodded. I felt a sweat drop trickle down me face. I’m starting to wish that Dark wasn’t Niwa-kun’s other half … “Something wrong, Miu-kun?” Hiroshi asked.
“No, I was just thinking about something that’s been annoying me.” I replied after I finished changing into the uniform. “Wow, this actually fits me really well, Dark-san,” I said, softly.
“Yeah, these do fit well,” Hiroshi commented.
“Well, shall we tell the Lord that everything is under control out here?” Dark asked.
Hiroshi and I nodded.
“Let’s.”

Dark knocked on the door, “Excuse me my lord for bothering you at such a time but you wanted a report on the current status of the war that has been going on.”
“Come in,” called a muffled voice. Hiroshi, Daisuke (who apparently turned back when Lord Watanabe answered) and I turned to each other. We were all starting to have second thoughts. What if it isn’t him, who is in there? Hiroshi gulped and pulled down the handle of the door. It clicked, signalling that the door was opened. We slowly opened the door, afraid to find out what was on the other side but willing to find out. “So, what news of the war do you bring me? Good news, I hope,” said Lord Watanabe. I smirked. It was truly the man that caused the downfall of my clan, Lord Watanabe. Daisuke spoke first, “Well, actually my Lord, I’m afraid that I have bad news for you.”
“What sort of bad news?” spat the Lord.
“Your army was bought to a downfall and the enemy are asking that you surrender, My Lord,” I said, coldly.
“I’ll never surrender to the likes of them!” the Lord said angrily, gritting his teeth.
“If you won’t your people will choose them over you,” Hiroshi answered back.
“They would never do something like that. They know better than that.”
“No. They will willingly go with the opposing country, they want to go,” I answered back.
“Just whose side are you on? Are you not serving me? If not, you can go die on that battle field right now,” Lord Watanabe yelled. I laughed at this. “What is so funny? I demand you answer me right now!”
“I’ll tell you what’s so funny,” I said after finally calming down, “Do you remember the Suzuki clan? You do, don’t you? Well …” I took off the guard uniform to reveal my ninja garb underneath. “I am Suzuki Miu of that very clan you slaughtered ten years ago!”
“What?!” cried Lord Watanabe in shock, “I thought I got rid of your stupid clan years ago.” I unsheathed my sword and held it in position. The sword reflected the fear in his eyes. Lord Watanabe was about to take off when two other swords were directed at his throat. “I don’t think you’ll be going anywhere,” Hiroshi and Daisuke gave the Lord their death glares which freaked out the lord even more so.
“I … I surrender! I’ll do whatever you want me to, just please don’t kill me,” begged the Lord, now on his knees. I looked down at him with disgust. “What do you want to do with him, Miu-kun?” Hiroshi asked.
“Let’s leave him alive …” I answered.
“Thank you, thank you Suzuki-sama,” said the Lord, now weeping from the trauma.
“ … But lock him up somewhere and make sure he doesn’t get in contact with anyone that actually likes him,” I concluded.
“I wouldn’t dare do a thing like that Suzuki-sama,” Lord Watanabe said a little too quickly.
I glared at him and I saw him shiver, “You better not try anything funny, Watanabe-sama, otherwise what you will face will be worse that death.” Lord Watanabe whimpered at this.

“Well, I guess the war is over now,” said Daisuke as we walked out of the castle with a tied up Lord Watanabe. “Yeah, now it seems that we where first stepping on the battle field just yesterday,” Hiroshi commented. I nodded. For five long years, we called the battle field our home and now that it is over we just had to go back to our ordinary lives.
“Where do you think Isamu and Yuuta got up to while we were looking for the Lord?” I asked. “We were looking out for any enemies just encase they found out we got to the castle,” a voice behind me answered and I knew who’s voice that was.
“Hey, big brother!” Hiroshi grinned. Isamu rolled his eyes while Yuuta waved to the group.
“You’re always the grinning idiot, Hiroshi,” Isamu noted. I laughed.
“Well, we better take Watanabe-sama to our commander,” I suggested.
“Yes, we should. Good thinking, Miu-kun,” complimented Yuuta.

When the war finally ended I finally returned to leading a normal life. It was a bit strange but I got use to it with the help of Niwa-kun. “Hey, Niwa-kun, do you think that others are okay?” I asked. I sort of missed them after getting to know them for so long.
“Don’t worry, they can take care of themselves,” Daisuke said with a smile.
“Hey, look! It’s Riku-san and Harada-san,” I wave to the two ladies.
“It seems Hikari-kun is with them too,” Daisuke noted. I nodded. I was so happy to see them again.
“Miu-kun!” Risa ran over and hugged me. Risa and Riku were the Harada twins. Risa was usually referred to as Harada-san and Riku as Riku-san to avoid any confusion. Hikari's full name was Hikari Satoshi and though the Niwa's and Hikari have been fighting with each other for quite some time; they managed to become friends.
We were walking when we pasted a shrine. The very shrine I pasted five years. “Hey, can you wait for me? I need to check something,” I called out and ran into the shrine. Sure enough, this was the very shrine where I met Yoshiro. “Yoshiro-san?” I called out.
”Yes, can I help you?” a voice came. I smiled, it had to be him.
“Is that really the way to talk to one of the most powerful ladies in the land?” I asked.
Yoshiro finally noticed who I was and gasped, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise it was you. It’s been so long.” He ran up to me and hugged me.
“Too long, now why don’t we have some tea and rice cakes,” I suggested. I made a gesture for Daisuke, Satoshi, Riku and Risa to come too. We all talked for awhile catching up with each other. “Wow, you must of gone through a lot,” Yoshiro noted.
I nodded. “Hopefully, you won’t have any more long journeys,” Riku said, happily.
I shook my head at this, “No, this was just the beginning of this journey. We still have a long journey ahead of us but we will continue this journey later.”
We all laughed and continued talking.
This is the end of this story.
