And only the stories he finds rather mindless made him the popular writer that he is. It wasn't until he wrote a book based on Myre that he was happy with his work again.
-He came from a well off family, his parents meaning the world to him. His sister however is, as Myre describes her, "an evil witch." And does not take well to the idea of her brother dating a "freak" at all.
-The relationship before Myre left him scarred, and did not break cleanly even after Kurt said it was over. An obsessive photographer named Rob who became far too possessive for his liking, wound up more of a stalker than a boyfriend. And left his mark on Kurt's inner thigh, from a unfortunate night where his obsession went too far.

- at 10, he was sold to a Mr. Reinhardt; he noticed the boy's fears and his education; Red was made to take care of the aging Reinhardt's father instead of physical labor
- around 13, his master gave up the slave trade, a short revolution amongst the traders having caused a rift in beliefs; Red and his brother were set free; they started to work on a safe place for nekos, slaves or not, to hide from humans
- met Myre at the age of 14 and soon after met Leslie (12) when Myre brought him to the Haven
- suffering from teenage hormones and a loneliness he's had all his life, Red fell in love with Myre and expressed this; he was broken when Myre rejected him and disappeared and still harbors anger, grief, and fear to this day of expressing himself to anyone else

- when he was 16, he could no longer watch his brother's torture and managed to kill their master without getting caught; they were sold to another master and he's held a protective nature over his brother since
- worked for Mr. Reinhardt for 3 years doing physical labor; the upheaval that took his master from the slave trade had him wanting to make a safe place for nekos such as himself to hide from the humans; started working on the Haven at 19
- met Myre when he was 20; allowed him to stay in the Haven; met Leslie shortly after and sought to help take care of him, the boy reminding him a lot of his brother's condition when they first found him
- he's never hated Myre for causing his brother's depression and making him retreat from feeling toward others; he's disappointed that Myre would treat Red in such a way, but knows he probably had his reasons
- he's always been the voice of reason and is normally the only person who can calm his brother down when he's upset, angry, or emotional in any way; he would do anything to protect his brother

-Due to a rather nasty rejection though, it didn't take him long to go after the red head's brother, Big Red. But started off as revenge eventually turned into actual affection. Although he won't admit, he still ahs feelings for both.
-Hates Ashlen for taking Red.
-Fell victim to a Black Paws attack, in which he accidentally gave away Myre's whereabouts. Ever since then, he's been determined to prove himself useful to the gang

- about the age of 10 his master forced him to work at a Cathouse - it was a place where nekos sold themselves to humans and slave traders, either to keep themselves safe from a cage or because their master told them to
- at 11, he met Toshi, though he didn't get to know him too well; he merely spoke to the boy a few times, when he wasn't being forced to sleep with slavers
- at 12, already emotionally distraught and on the verge of suicide, he was given to a rather violent slave trader; he's not sure what happened after that, but he woke up in the street with no memory of the previous 12 years of his life; this was when he met Myre
- he was taken into the Haven and lived there between 12 and 15, working as a 'nurse', taking up lessons from the doctor in the Haven and sometimes those outside of it
- shortly after being found, he started going to a cathouse, feeling some connection to it; searching for his lost memories, he sought out anything he found familiar; a man told him he knew Leslie, but wouldn't tell him anything; he started working at the cathouse as a prostitute for extra money and in hopes that, if he made enough, the man would tell him what he knew
- around this time, he met Kayle; the man recognized Leslie and started to fulfill a few fantasies since the boy didn't remember him
- around 13, Leslie fell in love with Kayle and found mutual feelings; they met often in the cathouse to speak or just be together
- when he hit 14, Kayle gave him a small ring as a promise that he would rescue Leslie from his current life and love and protect him; Leslie refused to go with him until he had finished 'working' and could get the information he wanted from his employer

- at 20, he started in on the neko slave ring; it made him money and provided ways to get out frustration at his family
- when he was 25, he met Leslie for the first time, a slave of one of his usual employers; he found the boy a little irresistible and was allowed a night with him, though Leslie refused to stay anywhere near him for long
- he often considered going to the cathouse where he had found out Leslie worked to have his fun but never got the chance
- when Leslie started working there and having no memory of him, Kayle frequented the place quite often, taking advantage of the situation; however, he started to get to know Leslie, learn about it, and lust turned to something a little more innocent
- at 26, Kayle had an incident that greatly made him reconsider the slave trade; he witnessed something of a mass slaughter of neko for whatever reason (the master never clarified); having been a benevolent master himself, he had never seen such cruelty and didn't want to be associated with such things; he dropped trading and wanted to get Leslie as far away from such people should he get mixed up something like that
- the woman he had been 'engaged to' started showing up everywhere about this time, wanting Kayle to make good on the arrangement; he didn't have the backbone to break the engagement

-For a long time, he made his way by being a hired assasin, working for anyone and killing anyone so long as they had the cash. He was known as the best. Until a job from the Black Paws went south, and he wound up killing one Big Red's generals. He didn't know them at the time. But it still effected him. And since then, he's been a loyal (albeit reluctant) gang member
-Very sarcastic and dry, most commonly reffered to as a*****e
-Has never really cared for anyone except for Red, but he's not even sure that that's what it is. He finds him interesting, and won't admit that he might love him.

- was a slave between the ages of 5 and 12; his real name was Tyler, but it was changed over the years due to his way of life after he left slavery
- broken at a very young age, he was subjected to many horrors; his master was a sadistic man and found pleasure in causing any and all of his slaves great pain; Razor was his favorite, as he didn't seem to whine as much from the pain - it made him want to get a scream from the boy
- up until he was 10, the man would beat him and cut him, usually with some kind of blade, his favorite being razor blades; this was wear he was shown how much his master enjoyed playing around with razors on strings
- when he was 10, Razor started to become violent; he would attack anyone who got anywhere near him, even his master; no one was sure what happened to cause the boy to snap in such a way, there was no explanation; the boy was beat more often for his 'insolence', but it only seemed to make him more violent
- when he was 11, he met Spike (12) - previously called Matthew; they became quick friends, and Spike was the only one Razor didn't seem violent toward; he was still violent toward everyone else
- at 12, Razor finally went so far as to murder his captors - all of them; as they slept he stole his master's razor blades and cut the throats of any none-neko in the building, taking particular pleasure in carving up his master last, listening to him scream for someone to help him when no one was there
- he and Spike escaped and were taken in by a human family that fixed them up and took care of them; this was where Razor learned several human morals and ended up adapting, though not all of them
- at 14, his new family was attacked by slave traders trying to get at the several nekos that were living in the house; seeing the death of his new family, Razor once again snapped and many of the traders were killed. Only a few managed to escape with their lives
- afterward, the two left to find a new home; this was when they came to the warehouse filled with mistreated nekos, wallowing in the illegal things they had found on the street that seemed to comfort them: drugs, sex, alcohol, and music; Razor and Spike fell right into the bunch, drowning their own histories; also during this time, Razor learned to control his psychotic tendencies and even use them to his advantage
- when he was 17, he was reminded of the men that had killed the only real family he'd had and decided to exact his revenge; on the last man he killed, he found Toshi, scared and defenseless, the youngest out of the slaves; for some reason, he took pity on the boy and felt a need to protect him - being different from the need to kill, he held onto the feeling and took Toshi in
