Musings of a Crazy Person
Whatever I darn well please, thank you very much.
She had always been quiet. Her father thought that she was mute and had a temper ready for anyone who dared to mention his precious child as though she were handicapped. Her mother knew that she was not though. She sang to her little girl every night, holding her tight and concentrating on those precious moments.

Elizabeth would leave Hell to walk in her favorite forest every night. Sometimes, she took her child, holding her hand gently but firmly as they walked to the waterfall in her favorite forest. They would sit on top of the water, their feet dangling off of a rock. The rock jutted out from where the waters fell away and the impact of the water so far below them sent out a mist that covered half of the lake. The water on the banks was still though and reflected the moon and the stars like a looking glass. Trees grew up to the water, thick and dark green foliage. however, on one side, the trees were pure white. A patch of blooming dogwoods, thick with flowers.

Elizabeth would sit with Alex and they would stare into the Heavens, one in longing and the other in curiosity. Alex would talk then, asking her mother everything and telling her what she thought of. Her mother would smile and answer her questions, telling her own stories to her young daughter.

Her time was limited though. One night, Michael came to Earth, looking for Elizabeth to absolve her and take her back to Heaven with him. He found her at the top of the waterfall. She had not taken Alex, who was now sixteen, as Lucifer had taken her on one of his missions to recruit new demons. Elizabeth refused Michael's offer, but he grew violent and attacked her. She fought valiently, but her strenght was not the same it had once been. She might as well have been mortal as his angelic strength was impossible for her to stand against. He held her wrists, threatening to drag her back with him. Grabbing her, he launched into the air, flying upwards to heaven. She punched him in the gut and she slipped out of his grip. When she hit the rock, the back of her head split, spilling her blood on the stone. The dark pool ran down the rock and over the edge. Her life force mingled with the water below, but even after her whole body bled out, there was not enough blood to stain the water.

Michael stared as her body fell. He was transfixed as her blood stained the rock and flowed off into the spray below. Tears ran down his face as he turned away, flying to Heaven. He told no one of what he had done, instead storing it in his own heart where it grew putrid and rotten, gestating in the dark part of his heart until he died.

Alex came back to join her mother, knowing she would still be out. As she came to the rock however, she found her mother's dead body. It was pale and lifeless, her eyes glassy. There was a small smile on her face. She had died staring straight up to Heaven, to her home. Alex did not even cry as she carried her mother's body back to Hell. She didn't speak to anyone about the feathers she had found clutched in her mother's hand or the note in her mother's pocket. They buried her in a white marble tomb near her favorite town. Alex knew that her mother's final resting place did not lay with her body but with the blood, her life force, which had seeped into her own secret place, the one she had only shared with Alex.

Lucifer went insane with grief, muttering to himself and pacing his room for weeks. His only rest was when he collaped from exhaustion. When he was just woken up, Alex could force him some food, taking care of her father diligently. She took over his jobs, going out to find demons and fallen angels to join their forces. Mammon controlled the army, training them and leading them in battles with the angels. Then, Alex made another fatal mistake.
