Can you hear it?
Can you hear the song of the Divine Wind?
Music
Music is something that has forever fascinated me. The power of beautiful
notes holds a spell over me unlike anything I've felt elsewhere, and I know
not why. This journal entry is going to be a foray by me, in an attempt to
start reasoning this stuff out in my head. I've needed to get this out of
my system for God alone knows how long, and so here it is.

In the words of a good friend of mine, "Music is a strange thing. It can
bind and separate. Or in a rare few cases, alienate. A tune so rare, so
foreign, so spine-tinglingly exotic that it's bearer is isolated by his own
vibe." This is true, in both senses of what the word "Music" means to me.
Music is a form of art, this we all know. And unfortunately, like all forms
of art, people have been known to abuse it. And I'm not just talking about
rap, though if you add an 'e' onto the end of that you get what it does to
your ears. Music has the power to strike at chords deep within us, so deep
that we don't even know they're there.

But why? Why does this happen? What is so special about a few sounds? Why

is
it that I can hear a song and see in my mind the four seasons rotating? Why
can I listen to a few notes and feel poignant beauty, lost chances and a
simple desire to fly?

Why does this happen?

To be honest, I have no clue. I don't know why I can hear some songs and
fall to my knees in awe. But to me, music has always been about the meaning
one can gain from the words. To me, music has wforever been 'what do you
see in this sound?'
I guess that's why I absolutely hate thrash metal and rap. The images I get
from them are nonexistent or meaningless.

Music is meant to pull at something deep inside us, is meant to invoke
dreams within us. I dunno... maybe it's just me.

Too much stuff is just 'maybe it's just me'.
