My dad will be having a sad memorial day this next week over in Iraq. Two days ago his best friend (Major Crocker) with whom he went on all of his humanitarian missions with was killed trying to help some of the Iraqis in a village near Haditha Dam in Iraq. He was hit with a rocket-propelled granade and killed instantly. In a recent email to my mom, my dad described his relationship to the Major as "We were like kindred spirits."
It makes me very scared to think of what my dad will be like when he returns. I wonder constantly how changed he'll really be when he comes back. Will he be more reserved? In any case, he'll never be the same as he used to be.
I would like all the prayer in the world for my dad and I really miss him a lot. It frightens me to think that he's in an area as dangerous as it is and that something could happen to him. Please pray for him and for all of the other men and women over there serving our country and helping other who are serving our country.
