MY Thoughts...or sumthin...
This is where all my thoughts are jotted down.
My other story....
Ramona.
It was then that I had to visit my dad. My stuff already packed and waiting for him by the door. I was the only one there, watching T.V. with bits of cookie crumbs hanging out of the side of my mouth. I sat there in a daze interested in only one thing. The hot guy on T.V. It was an old movie so most of these people were dead, even the young hot guy; he was in a car crash right after the movie was finished. Poor guy only about seventeen.
A commercial had come on. I wiped the crumbs making them fall to the floor with a bit of crumbs still left on my hand. Then from outside I could hear my dad pull into the driveway. I hurried out of the house, tripping over my little sister's shoes and forgetting to turn off the T.V. It doesn't matter though; my mom will be home soon anyways. Cianna always leaves her shoes by the door, I think she does it to aggravate me; she thinks she's funny.
"I'm comin, I'm comin." I murmured under my breath. With a fake smile, I closed the door and looked at him. He started talking about his new neighbor, how he always feeds the guy's horse, and how the he is never there.
"Sounds like a ghost dad." I said, boredly. He always comes up with nonsense. Like when he'd first bought his house. He said that the guy before him died in the pond by frogs. Now he's haunting the place. He said the man wanted to get back at the pond frogs, so if you're up early enough you could see him standing by the pond pointing. I don't believe in ghost stories nor do I get up early, I'm not a morning person. I get cranky easily.
I turned to the window and reached up to force an errant strand of hair behind my ear. I looked past my bland expression reflected on the window to the scenery outside. More trees, greenness and it looks like it's about to rain. It's been like this for hours. My mom's house seemed only a distant memory.
"Dad...?"I asked interrupting him as he spoke.
"What?" He answered.
"Can we talk about something else?"
"Like what?" He looked over at me.
"Dad! The Road!"
He slammed on his brakes, lights flared and tires squealed. We stopped in an instant; jerking our heads back hitting the seat.
"Did you hit something?" I asked.
"I don't know maybe."
We both turned our heads to the back slowly; like a scene from a movie.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"Who?"
"The man you just hit."
"Honey, there's no one there..." He turned to look at me. "Are you feeling okay?"
"But I just saw...Never mind let's keep going." I turned to the window; looking in the side mirror, searching for the guy. He's not there...Maybe I was seeing things.
We continued onward, almost to the house. I continued to watch the trees, my dad babbling as back round noise. How could that guy not be there? I swear I saw him just now. Maybe he was...Nah; he couldn't be a ghost, that's nonsense.
"Lexa...? Weren't you listening?" He startled me; interrupting my thoughts.
"Uh...No...What was it you wanted?"
"Can you grab something out of the back," I looked over my shoulder and froze in fear for what I'd just saw. It's him! He's following me! I stared at him, watching his pale face turn towards mine.
"H...Heh…Hello." He smiled as he spoke.
"That book back there, I want you to look at it." My dad continued, ignoring the guy.
The guy handed me a black notebook. I turned to the front, eyes wide, face flushed.
"What's wrong? You feelin sick now too?"
"No, she just saw me that's all." The guy from the back said. I gasped, trying to speak but the words wouldn't come out, only a little squeal.
"Dad he's in here..." I managed to say.
"He who?" He turned to the back quickly then turned back to the road. "I don't see anyone."
He'd pulled into the driveway of his house and turned off the car. "Now tell me what's going on. Why are you acting so...weird?"
"I'm not...It's just...," I sighed. He wouldn't believe me, because he obviously can't see or hear him. "Never mind." I mumbled. He gave me a stern look while partly opening his door.
"You sure?" He asked in concern.
I smiled and opened my door. Before I closed it, I looked in the back just to see if he was there, he wasn't. As soon as I turned around to go to the back, he was standing there. Right in front of me smiling.
"Oh one more thing," Dad had stopped walking and looked at me. "Can grab my jacket?" He continued to walk. It was more like a demand then a favor.
"He can't see you?" I asked. Dad was out of my sight already.
"Or hear me, but I'm curious. Why can you?" He replied.
"I don't know, you're the dead guy. Why don't you tell me?"
He pondered for a moment. "Honestly I don't really know... I died just about an hour ago. You were glowing when I saw you too. So I decided to follow you... You know I thought you were like an oricale or something."
