Hidden in the shadows,
A girl lays lost and shattered.
Somewhere down the road,
Her life was taken and tattered.
A voice calls from the darkness,
Sending shivers down her spine.
A heart has been broken and family destroyed,
Still she smiles like everything’s fine.
Her mother never calls and her body’s been forsaken,
Her father’s never been there and she’s never had a home.
Always moving from place to place,
So she writes her poems.
Knowing she’s not the best at it,
She tries anyway.
She writes her thoughts, her pain, her fears,
But the pain forever stays.
She feels unwanted…alone…insecure,
Always thinking she’s to blame.
Forever wondering why she feels this way,
Yet hoping things stay the same.
For all she knows is pain and confusion,
It’s just how her life goes.
Hidden in the shadows,
She is a forsaken rose.
