Peaceful in the moonlight,
A soft breeze whispers.
The stars shimmering,
Like her eyes once did.
Fallen in the night,
Her tears form a sullen path.
Quietly waiting to lead someone,
To the place where she lay.
A small farm house,
Just big enough for two.
Resting alone in the darkness,
A home for a broken dream.
Leaves rustling on a wooden porch,
A bench swing moving with the breeze.
Standing in a shadowed yard,
A horse looks on, into the house.
Petals from the darkest red rose,
Lay on a creaky floor.
Memories of a dream,
Flow through the grains so old.
Pictures crooked on a wall,
Untouched by human hands.
Dripping in the distance,
Water falls slower than time.
In a dark tub,
The resting place of a broken heart.
Limp over the ledge,
A ring adorns a soft blue hand.
In unmoving water,
Eyes of the brightest green.
Dim with the loss of a soul,
Part of a lifeless body.
Beauftiful in a peaceful rest,
The windows to the pain once held.
She lived a life of love and smiles,
Until her love was lost.
Now together,
They walk the moonlit sky.
Together...a broken dream,
And an everlasting memory.
