The good, if slightly disheveled folks up here in the belfry are pleased as spiked punch to announce the publication of Speed Bump: Cartoons for Idea People. Published by the highly-respected-until-now ECW Press, the new book clocks in at over 200 pages, and includes a 32-page perforated color section you can pull out and tack up next to your Farah Fawcett or Bobby Sherman poster. There's an introduction by the author, shorter introductions to begin each themed chapter, a caption contest, a drink recipe, a great essay to lead off the animal chapter by the president of PETA, Ingrid Newkirk...and to top it off, there's a hilariously bizarre foreword by Jim Borgman, co-creator of "Zits" and Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist for the Cincinnati Enquirer...
I mean, what more do you want?
