Marina's Journal
I don't have a particular theme here. I'll post when I'm bored or I find something interesting. Read it if you want to, I could care less. It's just a means of putting my words on a screen so that at least I can see them.
Chap Nine
Home Again

Marina moaned as she became aware of many things at once: a bright light in her face, a couple of rather loud voices talking excitedly in the background, a heavy weight across her rib cage, and a pounding headache. She was first able to identify the voices as those belonging to the couple Felicia and Lain. "Will you two please quiet down?" she moaned, attempting to shift the suffocating weight off of her chest. "You're just aggravating my headace," she growled, opening her eyes wider as she grew used to the light from the lamp positioned directly above her head. "And can you move teh lamp? I really do like being able to see." "Marina! Thank God you're back! I thought Lain was going to wear a hole in the floor with his pacing!" Felicia exclaimed as she hurried over to move the lamp and get Marina in a bear hug even Midnight could not replicate on a good day. "Can't... breathe.... crushing..... lungs" Marina hissed, hoiping Felicia would let go. "Oh, Sorry." "Good morning, Sis. How was your two month rest?" Lain asked, feigning anger as he messed up Marina's hair. "Just fine, thank you very much. Gee, I see you weren't very concerned," Marina returned, knowing what Lain's reaction would be. As she expected, he, too, hugged her hard, though it wasn't quite as hard as Felicia. Marina looked down at her rib cage to try to figure out what teh heck was flattening her lungs, and quickly forgot about her pain when she realized that it was Midnight's unconscious form lying there. "Midnight!" she cried, sitting up fast enough to get him to roll down enough for her to hold him. She immediately regretted that action when her vision when for a swim. "Sis, there's no way you can help him if you can't even see straight. Take it easy. He'll be fine, so long as you are," Lain admonished, helping Marina remain steady enough not to throw up. "Besides, I don't think Midnight'd like it if you got sick," Lain added, bringing an annoyed smile to Marina's face. "Midnight, we're back. Please, wake up," Marina murmured, cradling him against her and resting against the wall. "Give him some time. He's just been dragged forcefully back to his own body by light powers. He'll need some rest." Felicia's words came from down the hall as she left to prepare some food. "Will you stay here, Lain? I have some.... visions I need you to hear. They're not pretty.... and they'll be the reason why I cannot stay here much longer, even though Midnight probably will have to be here," Marina murmured, knowing Lain heard every word. "Yeah, I'll stay. You can trust me, Marina. Whatever you saw. We'll get through it together. As a team. Like the three of us did when we were little." "Thanks for the support, Lain, but I'm afriad all I can allow you to do is listen. What I saw, what I must now do, I must do on my own."
