Seraphor Secrets
Homosexuality
Fiction: Homosexuality is contagious.
Fact: Homosexuality is caused by a number of things and is not purely the product of a bad childhood, nor is it contagious.
Fiction: Homosexuality is unnatural.
Fact: What do you think Homosexuals are made of? Plastic?
Fiction: Allowing gay marriage will cause more people to become gay.
Fact: If you gay your gay, if your straight your straight, if your bi your bi, theres very few who can change that and I doubt those people are being truthfull to themselves anyway.
Fiction: Allowing gay marriage will ruin the economy.
Fact: Less than 10% of the planet is homosexual anyway, 10% increase of marriages really wouldnt be that much, and it would be a gradual change because if gay marriages were suddenly allowed it wouldnt irradicate all the discrimination there is today.
Fiction: Homosexuals are a minority and a defect, they should be wiped out!
Fact: Yes a minority, and in a sense yes a genetic defect, but then just plain ugly people are a defect, as are mentally disabled people, and siamese twins, and that's just the extreme cases, everyone is essentially a genetic defect as nobody is perfect.
Fiction: Homosexuals spread AIDS
Fact: Both Homosexuals and Heterosexuals can contract AIDS, and while a lot of AIDS victims are gay males, the majority of AIDS victims are more often than not, straight, white females.

I believe that it's a combination of hormones and how you view homosexuality. Because of this I'd have to say that nobody is Gay or Straight, everyone is, on some level, bisexual, nobody can have complete ammounts of testosterone or oestrogren unless they were born in some freakishly asexual way. The reason people can 'change their sexuality' may be a sudden imbalance of hormones through environmental conditions. Or maybe they had enough of the hormone in the first place but their views on homosexuality put them in a state of denial, so even if they were bisexual they were just surpressing any homosexual feelings, thus when they stop surpressing them they became bisexual.

Religious Beliefs
I dont believe in religion at all, im agnostic, I just dont believe we should be told what to believe, I don't believe a god doesn't exist, but I do believe THE God doesn't exist, it all seems too absurb.
So some old guy wrote the bible thousands of years ago and im just meant to take that as the truth? Theres hundreds of religions, they cant all be right, and they cant all be wrong.

The idea of Heaven and Hell is obsured to me, this is all based on human morals, on our way of thinking, and on the way we have evolved, if the one true god is ignorant enough to lump everyone into two catagories, Good and Bad, especially when the good are rewarded for eternity and the bad are punished for eternity, our universe has some serious problems.
Heirarchial power is a human invention, 'God' is a heirarchial position, so I don't see why it should be true. People say God made us in his image, but maybe thats just how we justify the fact that the idea of God was created in our image.
We as individuals should believe what we want to believe and not try to persuade others to believe the same. If you have no imagination or sense of logic then thats your problem and you can go for one of the existing religions.

"Maybe God made the Big Bang?"
"Maybe God put the fossils in the ground?"
"Maybe God made aliens?"
If that is so then why isn't it in the bible? If what is in the bible is not the truth then how can anyone trust any of it?
"But didn't God create life?"
Scientists have experiemented with the exact same thing, and have sucsessfully created simple proteins, the building blocks of DNA which is what makes us the sentient beings we are. If scientists can create these proteins whats to say they weren't created by a random reaction.
"But what created the universe?"
In that case, what created God? If the universe couldn't make itself, then whats to say God created himself. If God did create himself, whats to say the Big Bang didn't occur by its own accords. This is all way too much for any human to come up with an answer, but it is certainly questionable in every espect.
"But people have spoken to God in the past! It's in the Bible!"
If someone came up to you tomorrow and claimed they had been talking to God and he wanted you to do something, you would call him crazy would you not? In todays society people who speak to God are looked upon as mad, over 2000 years ago people based everything around religion, that's all they had to make sense of things, they didn't have the science we have today, and so if someone were to say they had been talking to God, they wouldn't need any proof because people believed God spoke to people.

All religions are based on the belief(s) of some guy(s) thousands of years ago, they had their own morals and knew not of the discimination and equal rights that we believe in. So it is my belief that most monotheistic religions, especially Christianity, actually promote disciminative ways such as Racism and Homophobia and mankind would be overall better off without them.

It seems the God and his ways have the intelligence of a man from around 1500-0BC when compared to todays society, when you look at things this way how can you not see how God was made up by a man over 2000 years ago?

I think it's kinda funny that people think that homosexuality is contageous. If we really had the power to spread it to others do you really think that there would be any straight people left?

I know people who think homosexuality is horrible and if there are gay marriages, then people will catch it. And I have to shmack them sometimes because they are totally weird. They like to think that if there is no gay marriage, there will be no gays. I am bicurious. I think. I don't know. There's an equal level of love and awkwardness. Anyhooz, your journal was "keen." xd (haha, keen, that's a dumb word)

I see religion as a way of controlling people with fear.
"Do as we say or you shall burn in hell for all eternity"

Different religions, I think reflect the culture of the regions they originate in. Must be easier to influence people if they feel at home in their religion razz
