"Ah. dont you just love the first day of school?"she asked.
"no not really." I replied
"Hey!" someone's voice yelled from behind.
"hey baby!"i heard Nissa say
"what?" i asked
and just as i turned around there stood six feet of muscle.a jock.I hate jocks i thought. are they friends?
"Glad we finally get to see each other again!"he said.
"Me too." Nissa replied blushing
"Who are you?" i asked,a hint off anger in my voice.
"Oh! you two have not met yet huh? well xalda let me introduce you to my boyfriend Tony.
"YOUR WHAT?!?!?!" the words pierced me like a thousand knives.
"you heard her lil man were going out." he said knowing i was hurt.
I wanted to yell.to scream.but no words came out
"get lost lil man, so me and my lady can get down to some reuniting."
"yeah xalda ill catch you later." Nissa said
I couldn't move.I couldn't speak. I couldn't believe it,the girl i liked since i was like five...doesn't...feel the same way i do. i felt sick.
"yeah see ya later." i said glumly
no way i was going to class now. i wanted to go home and sleep.
The gates to the school weren't closed yet,i could still turn back and walk home.it was a good four miles bat its worth it. I turned around and headed toward the gate,but as i did so i heard a voice.
"Xal!" it was Nissa
"yeah? what do you want?"
"what did you think of Tony? Amazing isn't he?Do you like him?"
"like him? no i hate him!" i yelled back.
"what? why."she asked
"because...,because..."the words didn't come out
"oh! i get it you just don't want me to be happy!"she yelled
"no thats not it." i said
"then whats the reason?" she asked obviously irritated
"......I" again the words didn't come out
" I knew it you just don't want me to be happy,i thought we were friends."
before i could respond the words that shattered my seventeen year old heart came out her mouth.
"just leave me alone! And don't bother waiting for me after school, im going to Tony's house.
"But..." before i could get a word in she said
"you know maybe if you weren't so emotional acting then you could get a girlfriend and be happy to.Ill see you around!"
she turned away and walked. the wind blowing her hair.
i looked up into the gray sky. drops of rain tapped my face. a fitting day for a problem such as mine.
There was nothing more to be said. i turned and left the gates of the school.
