I love Teen Night. I really, really do. There's something about it where I know that I can safely be myself without people thinking I'm just straight out crazy. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm insane and I know it.
Started off hanging out with Jen, the artist, for a couple of hours at the mall. Man, that was a blast! See, she's doing a report on Hot Topic, and I was with her, trying to help out as much as I could (and being insane at the same time). At least, today, I fit in. Normally I'm wearing tye-dye when I enter that place. I actually had on my Gothic chain/strap pants, a JtHM shirt, my collar and fingerless gloves. There were some really nice Gothic people in there that day, and they totally loved the idea Jen was having fun looking around. I never knew Hot Topic sold Nightwish CDs. I'm surprised, really; thought hardly anyone knew of them. After all, Finnish bands aren't common to be listened over here in America. Or...at least that's what I originally thought.
I managed to buy a stuffed animal there. Anyone hear of the bear Gloomy? Yeah. Totally wicked looking thing. It's adorable with the blood dribbling from it's mouth. AND IT'S PINK. A horrid pink. I absolutely love it.
We stopped to snag something to eat in the food court before heading on over to Teen Night. When I was in line for subway (which, gosh darn it! They didn't have Tuna, so I went to Gold Star instead), I saw a boy and a girl, around my age or a bit old, in front of me. I saw the man's messenger carrying bag had Alucard from Hellsing and I thought, "wow, cool! Hellsing fan! Too bad I can't comment on it; he'll most likely think I'm nuts". I then went to look back up at the menu, but noticed the girl was wearing a rainbow belt. Once again, I thought to myself, "well... that's interesting. Not a lot of people wear that...sorta reminds me of my one friend..."
I slowly look up, glancing at the face of the female. "Oh my god, HAKO?!"
Yeah. I hadn't seen her in ages. It was fantastic just to meet up again. God, I miss her and everyone else.
We ended up at Teen Night a little bit late, but I didn't care- I was having fun for the first time in a few days (*cough*thankstomyjob*cough*). I gotta say I look forward to Teen Night so much these days. It's the only place where I know I can see more one of my friends at once.
Of course, right away, I crack into my Yugioh deck and dueled for a bit. One loss, one win right away isn't that bad for me. Normally I suck straight out. My Harpie deck and Beast deck as been completely rerouted in areas, and it's actually more of an aggro (aggressive) consisted deck then for plain out defensive purposes. Currently I'm making a Gladiator Beast themed deck. Only problem? Half of these beasts' names I can't even PRONOUNCE. I mean, come on! Laquari (tiger)? Secutor (lizard)? Oh man, I'm going to be in serious trouble. I mean, I'm going to end up doing something like this, I just know it: "Okay, Michael, I summon....this thingie... in face up attack position"! or "Okay, I use this... bull.. monster... to attack you head on"!
I'll get used to it. They're just GREEK names... quite literally. Every monster is named after some Greek name. "Spartacus" made me laugh. He's a raging dinosaur. But of course "Darius" is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL card (a purple horse with a black mane and tail. Orange armor, and a single lock chain whip for a weapon).
Showed Lynx what I had of my book. Three nights before Teen Night my ruddy printer decided to up and die on me ink wise. I swear... my book is over 200 pages- how is it going to survive printing every last page out? Clueless. Anyway, he for sure liked the one character he helped name; glad he approves!
Brawl kicked my butt. Again. However, it's surprising that I'm getting better with Falco- despite me not owning the game OR even owning a Wii for that matter. Still, the only reason I was killing myself as Falco when fighting Lynx, I found out (just like he did) is they made Falco's dash attack longer, so I ended up flying off the stage Final Destination (which is the only stage that is my DOWNFALL. I can't fight correctly on that stage because my techniques, though flighty, could be classified as "aerial/defensive hit and evasion" moves, what I specialize in). Oh well. Someday I'll own my own copy, and then I can go to the Shadow Moses level anytime I want and make Snake do his secret Codec calling "taunts". Oh. Yeah. And Metal Rex is horribly ugly in Brawl (what did they do to him? Oh, come on, make him shoot us or something on that dang level! Something besides stomping around in the background like an old Godzilla hoping around Tokyo city like a big playground. Yeah. I just went there and made a reference. If you can name the song, you win a free cookie!).
At one point in the evening, Jen (Another Wandering Artist), Jen (Seraph), Emma and I managed to obtain a boombox. This we fought to be quite a delightful turn of events. Automatically I put in one of my CDs Jen (Seraph) had burned me. We jammed to Marlyin Manson's version of "This is Halloween", attempted to sing E Nomine's "Mitternacht", and had fun with other songs ("The River", "Everytime we Touch", "Song for Ten"- that one was funny. It's a Dr. Who song; no one knew it but me). The one song that we had fun with? Well, it's in this journal entry's title!
Darude Sandstorm.
Once we played that, we, as Jen (artist) said, were reliving the "great rave of Prom". The DJ was fantastic at Prom. He actually did play Sandstorm, and my group of friends and I had a blast hopping around, comically banging our heads and generally acting like great big goofballs. I loved that night...
Anyway, we were bouncing around to Sandstorm. It was actually funny to see our small motley crew jamming to raving techno (a goth, a normal person, an Anime lover, and another soon to be goth). People actually started coming over, asking about what the name of the song was, or even chiming in to dance a little bit.
Everyone LOVES Sandstorm! How could you not know it?? It's the epitome of rave songs! It's techno! There's no singing in it! What's not to love?
Anyway, that was Teen Night. Nothing went wrong. I loved it, as usual! God, now I'm wishing for the next one. However... I just remembered, I may not be able to go to it. My manager has inventory week the same time Teen Night lands into town again. She told everyone we "can't plan anything, because we'll be pretty much be living at the store". She's going to try to get me off the evening, but she's not sure.
Great. Oh well. What can you do, right? Right. Oh...and one more thing:
GLOOMY WANTS A HUG. twisted
