The Cash Shop has been seeing a lot of new items recently, keep up the great work! However, as an avid buyer I am concerned, the prices seem rather off. Help me and users understand why a dress is assigned the amount of $4 versus a Sealed Letter which contains a monthly collectible cost $2.50.
Based on the following purchasing a Sealed Letter has more value. The dress offers only one pose, whereas the amount of poses for an MC can vary but is definately more than 1, and if you buy an Sealed Letter ads on the site get taken away for a month.
My question for you Lanzer is how are prices in the Cash Shop determined?

Like real fashion, depending on the design or demand, prices might be different. MC came from users donating to Gaia to support the site, so the price is always $2.5 and we continue to make a great value for users who choose to support us. The dress was made strictly as a fashionable item that carries a different branding and feel. Kind of like comparing the price of an expensive handbag and the price of a backpack, the functionality of the backpack holds much more value, but people who like the handbag like the handbag for reasons outside of looks or functionality in many cases. I believe this is the thinking behind the item.

The truth is that we have differences in opinions, but things are not to the level where we are fighting and with no resolution. If you grab anyone individually, we all try to do the same thing - to make a great site, to not do the mistakes that would lead us to losing support for users like you, while being able to still support the large staff we have here and build cool new stuff.
Being at different parts in the office does give different perspectives. What's been mentioned was a different point of view, but not exactly what's happening across the board.
I'll see if I can grab Fin right now, he's usually in meetings (just like me biggrin ).

We're likely to get around 30 games at launch. There's currently a game developing contest also and we'll be able to vote on the entries in April. biggrin

Hey Lanzer! First thank you so much for showing your support for Barton during the water wars. It was an honor to see you support the roots of Gaia.
The questions I have for you today are:
1. Back in 2003 there were contest held in the Art Arena and winners received medals:
. Wonderful art was produced during these contest. I was wondering why the contest stopped? Will the medals ever be obtainable again someday?2. The movie 300 inspired some of the most amazing items I have seen on Gaia. Is there currently anything in entertainment that is catching your, or artist, attention?
3. Rufus is one of my favorite NPCS. I was wondering will we ever see more animal NPCs in the future? [How about a black pug!?]
4. Did any gaia groupies get called on stage of the Price is Right? Any idea when that episode will air?
5. Are evolution items thought out start to finish? Or are they something that is planned out as they go?

Back then, all contests were hand coded by me every month and winners were also handled by hand... takes a lot of time, and now days I don't have the time to manage them, but the new Arena that will be released very soon (this month or the next) will have a contest system that will allow us to keep hosting contests.
Oh, a lot of us watched Rambo last week. biggrin
Oh yeah, no animal NPC yet, but just wait till battle system is released...
Yeah I've heard that DJ Helsing got called up. Will have more info soon!
