My boss got really upset because a customer called up here asking for Art, but Art never picked up. So when I offered to take a message, the guy only told me that the management needs to learn how to pick up their calls and hung up. The following day, he called EvS himself in the Falls store and started ragging on me. He said that I wasn't fit to work here and that someone as irresponsible as I shouldn't be working for his dealership. This "Dr. Larson" got EvS really riled up and so he called up here to my office manager. She in turn called me (while I was still sleeping) and asked if I knew who Dr. Larson was. I said no, and when I called later to say that there had been on irate customer on Memorial Day who had declined to take a message, she then called EvS back with that info.
The same day, I went into work, not thinking anything of that previous phone call. My manager comes down and says that EvS nearly fired me. The only person that stepped up to defend me was Art, the guy that didn't pick up the page in the first place. Thanks to him, I still have my job.
I've been working over time this week. Two of the stores here are merging (the Dodge Store is coming over here to the Ford store) so I've been commuting to the Dodge store to sort through the files there. In about a week and a half, my boyfriend and I were going to go up North for three days, and I was really looking forward to it because of all the extra work I've been doing. Then Dar (my office manager) came down before she left for home yesterday and said that I can't go on my vacation anymore. Why? Because one of our full-time accountants is taking a 4-6 week leave after having surgery on the 10th of June. I was supposed to leave on the 11th. That's also the same week that our merge is happening, so things will be like hell over here for that entire week.
When I told my boyfriend, he flipped. He's gone up to Minong every year since he was a baby, and now he can't go because he was depending on my half of the money for gas. We fought for a long time, but I couldn't seem to get him to listen to me. If I want to keep my job, I have to miss my vacation... he even threatened to break up with me just because I hadn't
defended myself when Dar told me that I couldn't go on vacation. He took it back soon after, but it still stings...
My week has been pretty shitty...
