Contrary to belief, the Summer is not a time of fun and freedom, nor is it full of little children running outside in glee, embracing the sun. At least, not by where I live. If there's one thing I learned over the couple years on the internet, it's that boredom is contagious. And this certainly holds true since the first week of vacation comes to pass.
I figure this is prime time to start some projects and finish others I've started earlier this year. Unfortunately, the conspiracy that is the Summer Reading packet have come to haunt me yet again! And here's even better news, it's harder than last time! Joy. stare
Other than the obvious attempt to make more kids read over the Summer, I see the SR packet as a way for the teachers to lay back on most of the First Nine Weeks. They (the literature teachers anyhow) don't have to do much since a large portion of our grade is in the packet and essay test.
Also back from last year is the workbooks. My aunt usually buys a couple for me to work on during the Summer. It's not too bad, a good way to burn some time in the morning and some calories.*
All in all, my first week of vacation has been alright. One of my good friends from Gaia (you know who you are) gets to go to China! For a month or so if memory serves. I wish her a safe and fun trip. I figure the trip there is around 3 days. Hopefully I'll get a chance to contact her soon...
Fortunately, I have found various ways to relieve the boredom, if not just for a few minutes. One of them being good ol' television. It's good to watch my favorite programs again. mrgreen Another cure was.... ninja
Pokemon. Yes laugh if you want, but fighting with those little monsters killed a lot more time than I would think. It's strange though...it's taking me longer than usual to beat the main story. But maybe because I started with Piplup instead of Chimchar like when I beat my cousin's game.
Anyhow, I hope to write another entry soon. Until next time.
