Malfunction Day.
There had been a reason I had not set my alarm to wake up at sunrise that morning, or even why I hadn't woken up before it like usual. It was a dreadful day in Aekea in which everything just seemed to go.....wrong. There was no reason for me to even TRY and continue fixing the club that day. There was no point in even leaving my apartment, quite frankly. Even cyborgs malfunctioned.
It was weird not hearing Retrostacja so early in the morning, and with much sympathy, I knew why. Slowly sitting up in bed, I looked around cautiously. Or at least I tried to; my neck twitched violently and made a rather weird clanking sound. Caught off guard I yelled out, only to hear the faint sound of my voice underneath the static and grinding of gears.
Over twenty minutes later, I managed to reach Retrostacja's bed to see the little robot curled up and shivering. Smiling very briefly I reached down and picked the shaking Roro into my arms.
Malfunction Day was a mess. The Pit Stop was completely closed, Kluteau and Melodeau spending the day at the still open Revvin' Engines bar. They still wanted to work, and assured me that they would be OK; I had installed an instant fix in Kluteau that essentially reversed or corrected any malfunction, including itself being malfunctioned. While on any other day, Kluteau was completely functional, today...it kept the main issues at bay. Melodeau didn't have anywhere else to go and didn't mind malfunctions -- some of his best inspiration came from it.
Nevertheless, I had closed up everything but the bar, a place I knew would be open and filled with more than just malfunctioning robots. And with that on my mind, and now comfortably cuddled up with Retrostacja in bed, I closed my eyes and sighed, hoping the day would be over with.
