Tuesday, July 01:
Brand new month! Beautiful, ain't it? Time's just whizzing by and we're rooted in one spot. I can't believe it's halfway to Christmas. It just seems like we got over that. Also.... well, I don't even want to think about August. Ohio has been pretty much stuck in a whirlpool of rain these last few days, and the bucket full of that annoying liquid is falling down upon our heads like a deluge.
Anyway, Art-san and I got together for a little bowling outing. Now, let me stress to the readers that I'm horrible at bowling. The last time I was bowling was about a year ago, and I was with Hako, Liz, Sarah, Michael and her. Course, I may only get to bowl a year. That doesn't help my skills, I assure you. In fact I'm usually terrible at bowling. I can't get the knack of it down. I love it, don't get me wrong. It's just that my hand-eye coordination sucks a bit, and I look like some messed up geek floundering with a heavy, weighty ball that can cause massive (if not permanent damage) if it flies back and crashes into someone. Gulp.
We got at the bowling alley at about 10 in the morning. Her dad and brother was already there and starting. We went back up to the desk to get those god awful clown like bowling shoes. I always find them a tad amusing. Ours were green, bright orange and cheery migraine yellow. Ever notice whoever designed those bowling shoes must have been color blind? Or is it just me?
The guy who assigned us the shoes was a real jerk-wad. I actually was inches away from flipping him the bird. Well, I did, once he turned his back, so he didn't see it. Still he was ragging on that here I was, 19, and I was hesitant on my shoe size. Because of that he was assuming that I lived at home (which I currently am still doing), and that I "let me parents decide everything for me". He was giving me haughty, superior looks as well. That prat! Burned me up inside.
Smoothing down my ruffles feathers, I pushed him out of my mind. We started bowling. This is where Art-san got to see how challenged I am when it comes to bowling. The first game, I believe, I had a 12 and she a whopping 50. Tells you a lot right there.
By the second game I noticed that there was this guy next to us in the other "lane" that was taking noticing in us. He had a brace around his stomach (for support of his lower back; I could tell because my dad, who works at a brace shop for his daytime job, makes or ships them). He also used a crutch and had a bit of slow walking gait that told me he was in a little pain. Despite that he was astounding! If I recall he got strikes a majority of the time.
He took stock in that I was floundering quite a bit. He took time, out of his game, to teach me. Gary was his name and he was about in his late forties. Anyway, he was extremely affable and had a nice light about his eyes that made one feel that he could trust him.
His tips worked. Pretty soon I was scoring strikes and spares, racking up the points. Here were the tallies:
1st game: Me 12, Art-san 50
2nd game: Me 78, Art-san 66
3rd game: Me 79, Art-san 76
What was amusing, though, is with each round we chose different names. Some of the names she chose was Rem (Shinigami from Death Note), Arucard (Japanese spelling of "Alucard" from the Hellsing Anime), and Schrodinger (from Hellsing). I chose Okami (the wolf from, wel, Okami), Raziel (from Soul Reaver) and Pip Bernadotte (from Hellsing as well). That was fun.
After bowling we ended up heading back to her house for a bit where, above all things, looked up songs on Youtube. I re-found "Blood", the hidden track, from My Chemical Romance. We played that and I ended up teaching her the lyrics. I love that song. "Blood, blood- Gallons of the stuff! I gave you all that you could drink and it has never been enough." Good song.
Today was pretty eventful. Hopefully tonight I'll finish a chapter. My ability to write tonight is failing me. Who knows... perhaps I'll get it back.
One thing that happened when I was at her house. We both had our laptops and went on the Gaia Towns. I can't tell you how many girls were hitting on me because a) they didn't know the Fear but thought, judging by the way I was dressed, I was "sexy" looking and b) they didn't notice my user name "Mandydandykid" and thought I was a male.
It's odd. I'm getting almost as many people hitting on me like this then I did when I was Dark Riku. Weird.
heart Peace out, ya'll! heart
