"Can't trust any one anymore! Right boy?"
"Gruff!"
"And here I am...Having to bail their tails out for once!"
"Gruff!"
"Do I look like a hero?! All I wanted was a friend, to go to work and come back, relax, get a meal or two in..."
"...Gruff..?"
"BUT NO!! Nothing ever goes right in the ******** house. With these ******** cats. Magnets for trouble. I tell ya."
"Gruff gruff." The blue grunny bounced along side Zapook as she stormed back and forth.
Zapook mumbled, loading the last of a few items into her UFO. "And yet, here I am preparing for a rescue mission. I'm an idiot...aren't I Boem?"
"Brains!"
Zapook stopped and glared down at her blue rabbit pet.
Boem blinks a few times, his ears drooping down a bit as he attempts to correct himself. "...G-gruff..?"
"That's better." Zapook Nodded, opening the cockpit of her UFO.
A small voice at the entrance of her lab nearly startles her and Boem. "Ma...Ma?"
Looking over, she saw that Wolven had innocently wandered into her lab, looking for Zee. "Mama..?"
Zapook sighed, picking Wolven up. "It's ok...Your...mama as you call her, stepped out for a bit. I'm going to go pick her up right now, actually!"
Wolven smiles, wagging his tail as a pup would. "Me come?"
"No no..." Zapook shakes her head. "You stay here and ...Um..watch the house. Ok? Take care of Ekone and Koopling and everyone else for me while I'm gone."
Wolven nods, and jumps down from Zapook's arms, dashing out of the lab. Boem was about to take off after him only for Zapook to stop him. "Hold on, blue boy, where do you think you're going?"
Boem stared up at her, a bit confused. "Gruff?"
"You are coming with me. I need the company."
Smiling, Boem hops into the front seat, wiggling his little tail as he settles in. Zapook climbs in, scooting him over a bit and closing the c**k pit. A set of large double doors open up on the far side of the lab, and within seconds, she takes off, following the newly built tunnel to the surface and shooting off into the night.
Several days following their take off, Zapook was still lost, had absolutely no clues as to where she should go, and lacked the tracking abilities to even get remotely close to where her 'family' was being held. There was one thing Zapook did have on her side though, and that was luck.
Stumbling into a bar after deciding to put herself and Boem up in an inn for the night, Zapook was tired and frustrated, and didn't even pay much attention to the creature following her. Boem stayed close on her heels and even hopped onto a neighboring bar stool when Zapook sat down at a counter.
"Can I have something strong? I need something to calm my nerves..."
The bartender eyed her, then pointed at Boem, "You do realize pets aren't allowed in this part of the Inn, correct?"
Boem let out a low, deep, demonic growl, hopping up onto the counter and glaring at the bartender, making him jump back and press himself against the wall.
Zapook merely shrugged. "If you want to try and kick him out, be my guest. I guarantee you'll lose an arm in the process though."
The bartender inched way from Zapook, saying nothing more to her or her pet.
"You know...", Zapook sighed, "If you keep that up. I'm never going to get a decent drink."
Boem smiled mischievously at her. His ears then perked up, and his nose twitched. This caught Zapook's attention, and she watched him as he sniffed around. Boem hopped off the table, trotting to the inn's entrance and peering outside. Zapook followed his example and her eyes went wide. Several yards away, she saw Yinxao talking with another man. Her look, however was entirely different then what she used to see in Yinxao.
Her normal appearance was the same; dark skin with pointed ears. Her attire, however was completely different. Instead of the loose pants or sun dresses Yinxao usually wore with Zapook, she was now wearing a brown leather jacket and matching leather pants, and her scythe was on her back. She wore a large brown leather hat as well.
Zapook picked up Boem and watched Yinxao closely. Yinxao, unaware of her stalker, handed a few gold coins to the man she was conversing with, before climbing into a cart. That same man ran around to the front of the cart and began to pull her toward the edge of town and into a field, following a zig zagging dirt path across the sea of grass.
Had Yinxao looked behind her, she would catch a glimpse of a UFO, barely cloaked in the darkness of the night sky with it's lights shut off. That same UFO followed the cart up to a luxurious stone castle.
Zapook stared with awe at the structure, looking it over, and the cart below casually strolled through the gates. Several minutes later, that same cart, pulled by the same man left the castle gates, only it had no passenger this time around as it headed back into town. Zapook quickly shook off the shock of seeing the castle and concentrated on only one thing. She wanted her family back...
Yinxao was long gone inside the castle as Zapook finally decided on a good place to land the UFO.
The guards were all wearing black or gray robes as they patrolled the gates and entrances. It seems as though nothing would catch them off guard. Nothing but the sudden rain that began to pour onto them out of the blue as Zapook marched toward the gates in a green robe with Boem riding her shoulder.
