Have you ever had that feeling that something was watching you, even though there was nothing to be seen for miles? Ever been walking down a street alone, only to feel that creeping sensation deep in your stomach of eyes following your every step? No doubt that you’ve come to believe that it’s all in your head and I guess it makes sense; after all, ignorance is bliss.

Wait, I didn’t introduce myself did I? That happens sometimes, my mouth has a habit of getting ahead of my manners, and I begin to ramble on and on. My name is Zachary Izaeh Porter, or you can call me Zip if you like, I know how people like to save themselves whatever effort they can, and I don’t mind it, in fact I think I like Zip better than Zachary, it’s more fun, and it suits me, because I’m always on the move, be it my feet or my mouth.

Damn, see what I mean? Anyways, now that you know my name perhaps I should tell you a little bit about myself. To start off simple, I’m sixteen years old and I’m much like any other average sixteen year old. I like sports and hanging out with my friends, I enjoy the less legal things in life but wouldn’t ever do anything serious enough to get me locked up, I get crushes on the hottest girls I’ll never have and I do occasionally get depressed and become a shut in, but that only lasts a few days, at a stretch. As I said, I’m not the kind to stay set in one place for long.

But there is something I should mention, something that makes me not quite such an ordinary teenager, know how I said people call me Zip, now, I understand if you think it’s because those are my initials but…that isn’t entirely right, I mean, those are my initials, and that is why the kids at school call me that. But, there is another reason… let’s just say, I have a special quality, one that no one at my school knows about. I’m a Supernatural. Now, I realize you’re asking what a Supernatural actually is, so let me tell you. Simply put, “supernatural” is a term given to describe those of us, and yes there is more than just me, with unexplainable gifts; now, many will want to call them super powers, but try to refrain from that, because it isn’t always an accurate term. Anyways, I have a range of talents, the root of which is the ability to move with a speed faster than any living thing known to the natural world while retaining the silence that can only be found in dreams.

Now that you know that, let me say something else, like any good story, there are good and bad guys, there are those with the proper sense of right and wrong and those whose view of life has been corrupted by something or someone. This is no different, only this time, the good and bad isn’t quite as distinguishable. Just know, those who consider themselves good guys called themselves the Ordinance while those who have less than innocent intentions, well, they don’t exactly have a name, but the Ordinance seems to have taken to calling them the Taint – Clearly the “good guys” aren’t the most inventive of people.

With all of that said, it’s time to get back to where we started, so sit tight, get comfortable and most of all brace yourself, for I’m going to tell you the story, a story about what happens when you get thrown into a world you never knew existed; when you get stuck in the fight between good and evil with no idea who is which.
