Sonnet: The Nightmare. CH.3: In Search of Salvation.
Night soon fell upon the city and discomfort came with it. "look Az, at least go when it's day time, you don't know if "they" could be roaming the city!" Kain said reasoning with Azrei. "ugh, enough already, your annoying me!" replied Azrei "If your that concerned, i guess...I'll wait." he continued.
"well, since thats settled, we should make a plan for finding the other people." Kyo said relieved with the arguing being over. "let's check level one to level 4." Megami said trying to set a reasonable limit. "thats a little risky though" Ric thought out load."Thats true. maybe we should gather any one on the surface and then go into the lower levels." Kain suggested. "we also need to be able to get out of the city quickly in case the government tries something." warned Megami. "then we should make groups of four to search each sections quickly" Kyo said as the plan seemed to go well. "as long as we get out alive i don't care what we do." Ric said as he tried to go to sleep.
the next morning every one suited up and went in to the destroyed city. "Azrei, if you change your mind, look for us up here." Ric said patting his back. "you better find her or else I'm going to kick your a** for wasting time." Kain said joking around, at least that's what Azrei hoped for. "see ya later, good luck." Kyo said as he caught up with Kain and Ric. "i hope you return safely." Megami added as she walked behind the rest of the group. "good luck to you too." Azrei whispered under his breath as he entered the elevator.
~the search: part one, side one~
As Kyo, Megami, Kain, and Ric walked down an empty road, they searched for any sign of life. they searched from vehicles and alleyways to homes and corporate buildings. Not a single thing moved in the city but the group and ashes. "Has anyone at least found anything at all?" Kyo asked as he searched a small
alley with Ric. "Nope, I haven't found anything yet." Megami replied looking into a window of a car with Kain. suddenly a strange eerie feeling swept over the city. down a main road, voices started to become audible to the team. "whats making that sound?" Kain ask looking down the road. "I think I hear talking..." Megami said as she tried to see what approached
"I don't think they look like those things we saw." Ric said as he powering down his extinguisher. "hey!" one of the people yelled as he helped another walk. "can you help us?" he continued. Megami and Kyo went to go help while Kain and Ric searched the area. "how did this happen?" Megami ask while helping the other person. "well, she twisted her ankle while run from a horde of people who attacked us, Well they looked looked like people, that also the reason why there's only two of us." replied the person. "what happen to the rest?" asked Kyo. "...well...they burnt up..." the guy was reluctant to reply. he did not want to remember how horrible it was to witness what happened to the others.
"so, what's your names?" Kyo ask as he sat on the edge of the street. "oh, my name is Marcus, and the oddly silent one is Niras." he answered Kyo. "nice to meet you, my name is Kyo, the girl helping Niras is Megami." Kyo introduced himself and Megami. "and I'm Ric, this guy next to me is Kain." Ric said as he and Kain approached. "it's nice too meet you, especially since your humans and alive!" Marcus said as he sat next to Niras. "i thought everyone would be gone by now, what the hell are you people still doing here?" Niras questioned rudely. "we're gathering survivors, hopefully we can save as much as we can." Kyo answered her. "well, your wasting your time, no ones going to survive this, especially if they're underground." Niras said coldly. "So. it seems you haven't changed a bit, still pessimistic as all ways" Kain said remembering Niras. "i see, so you are the Kain that I knew, you haven't changed much either hypocrite, i can tell your still somewhat of a pessimist" replied Niras.

Nothing but his own foot steps could be heard as Azrei walked along small roads. looking and listening carefully as he wandered around the charred level of the city, he made sure to remember any hiding place he found just in case the things overwhelm him. "where could she be?" he thought out load himself. "maybe i need to go to a lower level" he continued to talk to himself. suddenly, other foot steps are heard running around the area Azrei is in. they seemed to surround him, but the figures remained hidden from sight.
"-sigh-, this can't be good..." Azrei said under his breath placing his hand to his extinguisher. suddenly something jumped out and smacked Azrei in the head with a shovel. a few minutes later Azrei started to regain consciousness and gained a major headache. "is he alive?" he heard a girls voice speak. "i tried to tell you to make sure he's not human..." he heard another girl add in. "You're right...I should of at least not knock him out." Azrei heard a deep male voice say. "yeah, you should of!" Azrei said in pain as he sat up with one hand on the injured part of his head. "my apologies, my name is Verial, we just weren't sure if you were human or not and i kinda went overboard." A man with short black hair said apologizing. "and my name is Lilia, I'm sorry that Ve hit you so hard" a girl with light pink hair chimed in. "I'm Saika." a smaller girl with light blue hair said softly.
"the guy over there is named Davis, for some reason he never told us his first name." Verial said pointing to a man with short blond hair standing next to a lamp post. "well, my name is Azrei, my friends just call me Az." Azrei introduced himself as he stood up. "so, what are you still doing down here?." Verial asked Azrei. "when i first came down here I heard a girls voice singing, now that everyone has been abandoned here, I've decided to look for her." Azrei replied sitting down to rest on a slightly burnt bench.
"wait, they abandoned us here!?" Davis said rushing over to Azrei. "yeah, we've been announced dead to everyone, no one will be back for months." Azrei continued with the bad news. "this can't be, there's just no way that can be possible..." Davis said while he sat on the bench. "is that why your risking your life to find this girl?" Verial ask Azrei. "yeah, i figured she might have something to do with those things." Azrei replied. "she might be the key to stop those things or at least be connected some how." Azrei continued to explain himself.
"then we should join Azrei, we might be able to stop those things like he said!" Lilia suggested. "right, and die down here?" said Davis as he stood up. "i don't know about you but I'm getting out of here." he continued. "well, my friends are at the surface searching for people, you can join them if you want ." Azrei said to Davis."good, come on guys, let Lilia stay if she wants." said Davis as he started to walk. "sorry Davis. if that girl Azrei is talking about is connected to those things, I'm going to help stop them, before this happens again or at least find some answers." Verial said as he stood next to Azrei. "M-me too..." Saika said as she stood near Lilia. "w-wha- fine! i don't need any of you, I'll be just fine with the other people." Davis said coldly as he walked away.
