I think I may have learned something today. The internet is not a place to spew on how good your life is, or how well off you really are. No. Its full of a lot of angst. Teenage angst in particular but lets not descriminate against those still going through puberty. This would, I assume, be a vast majority of Gaia. Myself included.
You have to talk about something excruciatingly depressing or morbid in order to gain some sort of standing on the internet heirarchy. I constantly find stories of breakups, cutting, attempted suicides and what not on the boards, in blogs and even talking with people in chat rooms. There is no room for happy on the internet. The internet, I imagine, would be a giant black gothic castle full of blood and gore and heartache if it were an actual place on Earth.
You can't get caught online talking about how brand new and better things are for you now without being called a cheesy b***h, as I have learned. You can't talk about all the new things your family will own and how big your new house is without being called a spoiled rich b***h, as I have learned. You can't talk about how bright your future looks without being told you're destined to fail, as I have learned. And you most certianly cannot talk about how you actually respect your parents for working this hard to make all of the above possible, heavens no. As we all know, the populus of people on the internet hate their parents for some reason or another and wish to be orphans.
Some have a good reason.
Most do not.
My final thought: Be happy, but only AFK.*
