Life is an adventure
Live a Little
Taking it all back
Tina cleared her throat, "Allow me to enlighten you all as to what has been taking place. This gentle giant behind me had taken in and watched over Ivy in her younger years. Even he is not one hundred percent sure as to what Ivy truly is, but as we all can tell, she is clearly not human. Ivy's power surpasses most and this beast saw so. But even though Ivy is young in age, his years have been swiftly catching up to him. Young Ivy only wanted to house him and take care of him as he has done for her. Of course, she could not do it alone...

That is when she hired someone to be...well...to speak bluntly...an assistant. That being our dear friend Yinxao. Together, the two of them have kidnapped a cat girl here and there. The more they abducted, the more their castle grew, and as this had happened, the abductions became more and more frequent, catching the media's attention. Each girl caught would be put to work in this castle, and were informed to obey blindly, less something terrible befalls them. Surely, cat girls have gone missing, one by one from the castle itself. Girls that didn't follow orders, broke rules, dodged their responsibilities, or caused trouble, all of them disappeared...and brought to the massive creature that rests behind me."

Ivy huffs, "They all deserved it. I told you all you'd be sorry if you crossed me upon entering the castle and receiving your position on the castle's staff. Anyone that didn't fit my grand design got to help in another way, become food for my dear pop. He's too weak and weary to go find and hunt for his own like other demons! So I brought it to him! That's why I've only gone after cat girls. I found that large canines usually like them as chew toys. I don't even like cats!"

The girls all turned to each other with horrified expressions and Zee quickly stepped up to keep the little peace they had. "While that may be true, there's a few things that need to be cleared up. First of....Princess, your dear 'poppa' here ain't even a demon. He's a deity, You goit. Second, He hasn't eaten or killed a single catgirl since you first started chuckin' them in here. He's always waited until you were gone, and let them go, coverin' for them as they freely crept out of the castle. He's stayed alive all this time on will power alone." Zee looked back at the beast, "The big guy told us everything..."

Ivy's eyes became wide and no longer payed attention to Zee. She stared up at the coyote, "Poppa? Is...Is that true? I've been doing all of this for you...Why didn't you tell me..."

The beast reared up once more, panting just from that simple action, "I...Didn't want you hurt...You worked so hard...But I couldn't end their lives before their time...I am sorry for my deceitful charade...but we can finally stop...your smiles alone fuel my spirit..."

"I don't understand!" Ivy cries. "I wanted you to be happy!"

"HE IS HAPPY!" A cry came from behind Ivy.

Ivy turned to see Yinxao glaring down at her. "..Mew mew?"

Yinxao growled. "You ... You brat! He's staying that he's happy just seeing you happy and healthy! He didn't need this huge castle! Or sacrifices! He was fine with the way things were! And you...You've been trying to kill girls all this time! And you didn't tell me a damn thing!"

Ivy couldn't even bring words to her throat. She looked up at the coyote, then let out another loud scream and disappeared. Everyone looked around as the siren like screams shook the castle grounds once more. Before long, all grew quiet.

The deity stood up, lightly sniffing the air, then weakly walking over to the larger set of doors that lay behind him and pushed them open. The bright sunlight lit up the room, blinding everyone in it for a few seconds.
His booming voice echoed over them, "That spells that keep you bound within these walls have faded. You all are no longer obligated to serve under Ivy. Please...Go on...Claim your freedom, unless you wish to stay within Castle Kyut."

A majority of the girls instantly ran out of the doors, all parting their separate ways. A few more hesitated, but also took their leave as well. Only a handful stayed behind, claiming they had no where to really go, or no real home to go back to. Zapook, Tina, Aussa, and Zee were about to leave their selves, but had to make sure their new 'friend' would be ok on his own. The deity had only this to say.
"Ivy's temper tantrum will soon come to an end, and we will happily live together once more as we did before. The girls that stayed behind will still have the choice of leaving as they please, and can stay with us as well. I will be fine, you girls go on."

The four of them headed for the big doors, but Yinxao followed behind them, eager to leave with them. Before they can actually exit the castle. Ivy appeared in front of them, blocking their passage. "Where do you think you're going...you can't leave."

Growling, Zee stepped forward, "You heard the big guy, we can go. You got no say in this anymore!"

"I'm not talking to you! Get your scruffy hide out of my castle! And take your head case of a sister, your twisted look alike, and your dirt loving lackey with you!"

Tina, Aussa, and Zee gladly walked through the doors, not even looking Ivy's way as they passed her. Zapook stopped at the door way and looked back at Yinxao, seeing her looking down toward the ground.

Ivy folded her arms and snapped at Yinxao, "You can leave as well, Mew mew, but if you do, I take back the spell that I put on you. You'll revert back to the form I found you in. You got it?"

Yinxao started to tear up, and Zapook felt a tug at her heart. "Xao Xao...you can stay. You'll still be a part of our family no matter what...Got that?"

Yinxao remained quiet, then looked at Ivy with a stern look on her face, and briskly walked past her, through the doors. Zapook smiled and looked at Ivy with a smug grin.

Ivy frowned as she looked back without turning her body, "So be it..."
And with that, disappeared from sight once more. Zapook cheered and turned toward Yinxao, but instead of seeing her friend, she saw the leather clothing she once wore laying on the ground. Sitting on top of the clothing was a small, tiger like kitten that only mewed up sadly at Zapook.

Zapook only looked down at her with her mouth hanging open. Zee walked over, looking down at Yinxao. "Well...at least one good thing came out of this..."

Zapook nodded, "Yeah...we still get to have Yinxao as part of our family, even if it isn't in the form we knew her."

Zee shrugged, "I was gonna say that me Tina and Aussa got to keep our robes, but what you said is fine too."

:BACK AT TINA'S HOUSE:

Zee and Zapook were laying back to back on Tina's couch in the lounge room. Everyone had pretty much gone to bed, and Yinxao was sleeping in Zapook's room.

Zapook sighed, "So...You're not mad at Tina anymore?"

Zee nods, "Pretty much. Are you gonna try and fix Xao Xao?"

Zapook shrugs, "What's it to you if I do or not?"

"I don't really want a female cat followin' me and dry humpin' my leg."

"Oh yeah...I forgot she had a crush on you..."

"And Tina, and You as well. I'm sure she would for Aussa if she knew Aussa's real age."

"True..." sighs Zapook, getting up and heading back to her room "I'm going to lay down for a few...I think I caught something at that castle."

"Aight. Night hun."

Brick Joke. It's a Trope. Here, I'll retrieve the description:

A plot element has been thrown away. You think, What Happened To The Mouse? After minor distress, you dismiss the element as unimportant or the writers as hacks, and proceed through the episode, series, film, etc., not expecting to see the plot point again.

However, the writers were setting you up for a much later payoff. The long forgotten element comes back into play just when you least expect it.

Named after an old joke, which seems at first blush to be a pair of unrelated jokes. At the end of the first joke, a brick is tossed away, leaving the confused listener without a punchline. At the end of the second joke, the brick returns and the listener falls on the floor laughing. For bonus points, the teller can tell an actual unrelated joke in between.

Despite the name, it's not always a joke.
