Tiffany stood at her locker pulling on her newly cut bangs. Kaitlin sighed and adjusted her cat ears.

"You guys look fine, come on I don't want to be late for lunch," Kady impatiently bounced up and down.

Tonight was Halloween and her and her friends plan on going to a haunted house on the corner of her street. Some say the house is actually haunted by the past owner who was murdered in her sleep. But being the only three story house in the neighborhood the owner had the job of having a haunted house every Halloween.

"Hold on a second, will ya?" Tiffany petted her smooth black hair and popped her cinnamon gum.

"What's your rush?" Kaitlin asked now adjusting her Neko tail.

"Well you guys know I really want to ask Michael to go with us tonight," Kady whisper-yelled and stomped her tan heels into the ugly green tile floor of the school.

"Oh please you know that boy is in love with you and will must likely ask you," Tiffany laughed and slammed her locker shut. Tiffany straightened her black dress and walked down the hall in point position. Kady and Kaitlin scrambled to follow.

Michael had known Kady her whole life and he could sense when she entered the room, whether alone or with a group. He looked up just as she walked in with her two best friend, Kaitlin and Tiffany.

“So what’s going on between you two? There is defiantly a connection,” Cody said in a hushed tone as the girls strutted over.

“We’re going out,” Michael said just before they arrived.

“Hey girlies,” Kaitlin said jokingly to the boys.

“Are we going to the haunted house tonight? All of us?” Kyle, a cute dark headed boy with blue eyes asked.

“Duh!” the girls giggled in unison.

“Hey, where’s Dawn? Doesn’t she usually sit with us?” Cody asked looking around the noisy and crowded cafeteria.

“What you didn’t hear? She went missing,” Kady whispered.

“I bet she’s playing hooky, you know how Dawn is,” Tiffany said unfazed and opened a packet of ketchup.

Only minutes later the lunch bell rang signaling lunch was over for the day.

“See, you guys shouldn’t have taken forever at your lockers. What were you even doing for that twenty minutes?” Michael asked standing up with his tray.

“I tried to get them to hurry up but they wouldn’t,” Kady said sticking her nose up.

“Whatever, you could have easily walked away from us,” Kaitlin filled the others in “seriously we weren’t stopping you.” Kady gave Kaitlin a dirty look.
